I used a 24g OTN cath to intubate this guy to clear his airway. It’s not a joke when it’s your job to save them

@SaltyEMNY @marklewismd Unless you are attempting resuscitation on a bunny or other tiny creature, kitten puppy, etc. When your patient’s weights can be measured in tic tac equivalents (1 tic tac= 50 grams), different rules apply. I had a 150 gram mouse two weeks ago sometimes interventions work

@RVTShape We euthanized a hamster yesterday- he passed peacefully with his owner and his three hand made teddy bears. And a sweet old hunting dog holding his favorite pheasant wing. Their last minutes can be so peaceful and so beautiful, surrounded by love, no pain, no fear.

@MatthewKelsoDVM I diagnosed two dogs in the SAME family with cancer on the SAME day. One had mild lameness, the other increased panting. osteosarcoma in one and huge pulmonary mass, the other. A+ owner- oncology referrals for both. Lost the second one today. Some days really suck.
