Morning Mist Trail in Yosemite. One of those that anyone should go through โ In just 1.5 hours, you will reach the top of Vernal Falls, and from there, through a small and little-used trail, to the top of Nevada Falls.

Who were able to guess the location from the morning reel? The secret is revealed.
Photographers often prefer to keep the locations of their picturesque discoveries undisclosed. For this particular scene, one might only deduce that it's somewhere in Pacifica, California. However, there are no secrets on Caliscovery. We've uncovered the exact beach for you - it's called Shelter Cove. Moreover, we've identified these very stairs, which start from the so-called Pedro Point ๐

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to one of California's most spectacular canyons, the Seven Teacups. Nestled near Dry Meadow Creek in the Sequoia National Forest, this chain of waterfalls cascades from one "cup" to another, offering a unique and thrilling experience. Although considered one of the simplest and most beginner-friendly canyoneering sites, it is still essential to have basic training, knowledge of the route, and proper equipment before attempting to descend the bowls.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, consider the following training options and resources:
Uber Adventures - https://t.co/4WNIhy4W0m
Alpine Training Services - https://t.co/mLYKqeJayV
Canyons & Crags - https://t.co/oseTnZwPpD

The Eta Aquariid meteor shower is expected to peak overnight on Sunday, May 5, into Monday, May 6. The meteor shower will be visible in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres during the pre-dawn hours, though the best viewing experience will be in the Southern Hemisphere.
Originating from the debris left by Halleyโs Comet, the Eta Aquarids are active from April 15 to May 27. The timing of this yearโs peak coincides with the new moon, providing minimal moonlight interferenceโa stark contrast to the full moon of 2023. Viewers can expect to see between 10 to 30 meteors per hour during the peak.

Almost flat, easy to walk with children. You can also ride a bicycle. Just a little over 6 miles, it takes approximately 2.5 hours. What a delightful experience it is ๐คฉ

Firefighters in Oceanside have been battling a blaze that engulfed the city's iconic pier on Thursday. The fire destroyed a vacant building at the end of the dock, which was once owned by Ruby's Diner but is now abandoned.
The firefighters battled the fire on the pier and from the water. They arrived in boats and tried to use water cannons to put out the fire, but the high waves made the task very difficult. By 4 PM, they decided to save the pier but not the burning building.
The pier was built in 1888 and was destroyed by a storm just two years later. It was rebuilt in 1902, but it suffered severe damage due to a fire in 1976 when its fish market caught fire. The pier was last rebuilt in 1987. The cause of today's fire is still unknown.

Unfortunately, there won't be a poppy super bloom this year in Antelope Valley. However, if you're looking for poppies in Lancaster, there is a small field at the intersection of Highway 138 and 130th Street that I found after touring the entire area for several hours. The Poppy Preserve has few poppies and is overrun by non-native grasses. On the other hand, you can find impressive pockets of poppies on Highway 138 with beautiful patches of deep blue-purple lupines and bright purple owl clover, as well on the north side of Highway 138 between 130th Street and 150th Street. If you're from California and have more years to look forward to, skip this year and wait for another superbloom, as we saw in 2019 or 2023. However, if you're already in the area and have no choice but to see the poppies now, head to the intersection of Highway 138 between 130th and 150th streets for a limited but impressive display of poppies.

Last summer, an ephemeral lake appeared at Badwater Basin. On April 10, 2024, the National Park Service for Death Valley provided an update, stating that the shallow lake, which is also known as 'Lake Manly,' is currently evaporating. The lake was formed after storms in August 2023 and February 2024. While the duration of the lake's presence is uncertain, visitors can still enjoy the beautiful reflections of the mountains in the water as of mid-April.

If you're interested in the latest concepts in interior and exterior design, renovations, or landscaping, you should consider visiting the 59th Annual Showcase House located in Pasadena. The Pasadena Showcase House of Design is a fundraiser produced by the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts to finance their music programs and donate gifts and grants to other non-profit organizations in support of their efforts. It is open for tours from mid-April to mid-May.
Choosing a Showcase House is an intricate process, and no ideal house meets all the criteria. Every year, the advantages are weighed against the disadvantages of the properties available for that year. Sometimes, grand mansions are selected, and other times, charming homes on a smaller scale are chosen. Regardless of the square footage, each estate is renovated from top to bottom by leading designers using the latest concepts and materials.
The 2024 Pasadena Showcase House of Design has a significant historical background, several storied owners, and even a prestigious designation as a Pasadena City Landmark. This stately English Tudor Revival Style home was once named "El Roble" by one of its prominent residents, a Spanish translation in honor of a stately oak tree that once graced its magnificent front lawn. In recent years, it has been referred to as Potter Daniels Manor, honoring its original owner while paying homage to its second but more famous owner's English heritage and inspiration.
