When I tweeted “Fuck Israel” in October after witnessing the genocide committed against Palestinians and children in particular, I tweeted out of emotion at what was happening. It was the first time I made a non-diplomatic statement and I knew this would affect my professional life, and it did.
But what shocked me the most was my close friends and family. They started asking me why you said that? Will this affect your career? Will this affect your travel? Will this put you in danger?
People are not with Israel, people are afraid of Israel, afraid of losing their jobs, their bank accounts, their interests, their work permits in foreign countries, and their residency in other countries.
People are afraid of speaking the truth. Because speaking the truth about this matter will make you a terrorist, especially if you are a Muslim, and we all know what will happen next.
Unfortunately…
i normally avoid sharing graphic imagery but this is so fucking heartbreaking. so heartbreaking. no one should ever have to hold a dead child to beg for the end of a genocide. this is so sick. we can’t turn away.
I reject that this is our only choice. We have not had a primary yet. In the primaries, if we actually organize and mobilize, we can choose another candidate to run against Trump. I do not believe that Joe will win this. Going hard in the primaries for another candidate will *potentially* (cause at this point everything is pure theater) allow us another option and appease liberals who are talking about an absolute choice between these two people & the lesser evil thing. If he wins the primary, sure, we can give up (I sincerely don’t care who wins at that point) but if we sincerely organize for a better candidate and rally behind them publicly, I think we have an opportunity to put someone else in that can actually beat Trump. Just my 2 cents. But also, I don’t trust anything about this system at all for a while now lol so we’ll just all see 🤷🏻♀️
