The new Imperial era in Japan will be called “Reiwa” 令和. The characters mean ‘order’ and ‘harmony’ or ‘Japan’. I really like it although it’s a homophone for 零和 ‘zero harmony’. I’m assured it doesn’t carry that connotation in Japanese.
