For years, we've dreamed of decentralized social: user-owned identities, creator-first economies, no gatekeepers.
Today, @masknetwork is thrilled to share that we step in as the new steward of @LC, to advance our mission of taking decentralized social to the mainstream🌐
The internet made it easy to join things.
It never made belonging automatic.
You have to be there more than once.
Same place.
Same people.
Show up enough times,
and a crowd becomes a community.
Monday we start with a table 🍲
You can lock down the code and still lose the identity.
If a platform can hand over the passport, the selfie, or the history because an email looked official, the user was never in control of the disclosure.
That’s not a verification problem.
That’s an identity-control problem.
European fintech firm Revolut gave hundreds of its customers’ data to someone masquerading as a government agency—and the customers are angry https://t.co/BazAj9dyxS
we are pro-stack, not 1 silver bullet.
It helps to use different tools, practices depending on personal & collective context. Especially, when tech products can ship for years.
Hiding the chain is easy.
The hard part is making sure you don't disappear with it.
You never cared which server held your Spotify list.
You don't care which database holds your DMs.
You shouldn't have to care which chain holds your activities either.
Relationships. History. Reputation.
Those should stay yours when the infrastructure disappears.
Crypto keeps adding more things to trade.
But the better products make you think about fewer things.
New @thefireflyapp UI + perps mode 👀
Less clicking.

Trading has a finished loop.
Buy. Sell. Done.
Social doesn't.
It has to compound:
Identity. Trust. Memory. Who's still here after the campaign ends.
That's why trading products ship faster.
Not because social failed.
Because social is a slower machine.
The mistake is treating the slower layer as optional.
Privacy's sold like a math problem.
Lived like an ops problem.
Wrong wallet.
Wrong chain.
Wrong approval.
Wrong click.
The math checked out.
Tuesday didn't.
We call it "my profile, "my followers", "my history."
But the platform stores the relationships, writes the rules, and decides what survives.
We've spent 20 years calling that ours.
Then the spelling moved.
JUST IN: Mark Zuckerberg faces backlash after Meta takes over the @muse Instagram handle for its new AI product, forcing the world-famous band Muse to switch to @museband.
Every new social app adds another place to find people.
The harder problem is knowing they're the same person.
One more piece of the Identity Graph, now with @fomo 🔎
🔎 https://t.co/KSUGbJmFGc now supports @fomo search
Just add .fomo to the end of the handle and search:
- Search a Fomo account to discover its wallet address and linked social identities
- Search an wallet address or social account to find its connected Fomo account and jump straight to it
One search, across the entire Identity Graph.

The internet spent years making everything
more public.
more searchable.
more permanent.
Now the pendulum is starting to swing back.
Not because people suddenly got paranoid.
Because permanent visibility finally started to cost something.
