Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has confirmed that one of the wounded officers has died. Officer Jamal Mitchell, along with a second officer responded to a report of a double shooting at an apartment building on the 2200 block of Blaisdell Ave. Minneapolis Assistant Police Chief Katie Blackwell says officers were immediately met with gunfire from the suspect. The officers were able to return gunfire, fatally wounding the suspect.
Police say they located two individuals inside the apartment, one with fatal injuries, while another was gravely wounded. A bystander was injured during the exchange of gunfire and is in critical condition. A firefighter was also injured by gunfire but suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Home owner set off some fire works and put the remains in their garbage can. This is the result of not waiting for them to cool off. Thankfully some neighbors saw the fire, rushed over and put it out before it became worse. #TweetAlong
