@StretfordPaddck@JayMotty Charlton sat in south stand through all the highs and lows and loved the club until the day he died, that’s a club legend, not someone who’s trying to monetise attacking the players
@davidcoldwell I know one obviously a lot more violent than the other but praising him for that stoppage feels like praising Erling Haaland for scoring a 90 + 5min penalty against a Sunday league team after Dave from the pub at centre back has had him in his pocket all game 🥲
@RobTebbutt He should vacate and take the rematch because if that version of Usyk turns up to see Agit Kayabel in germany, it’s going to be an extremely long night for him
I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.
I wish the players, all the best this summer 🏴
@BIGmarvs@2Sharp_d Fury benefited from AJ as well, nobody would have cared about his comeback because boxing was dead, when he beat Klitschko it barely made the back page of the newspaper but when he came back his profile grew because he was calling AJ a dosser every 10 mins
@BIGmarvs@2Sharp_d Of course he does, they both do but before AJ’s influence nobody would even know their names, Wardley got a chance because Dillian Whyte put him on his undercard’s, Dillian Whyte become a PPV fighter because he rocked AJ, the whole boxing ecosystem benefited from the AJ era
@BIGmarvs@2Sharp_d Between Lennox and AJ, you had David Haye that sold out the MEN vs Harrison and then West Ham vs Chisora but other than that not really.. you wouldn’t be able to sell out a 25k seater area for a ex white collar fighter vs a simpleton like Dubois before AJ
@davidcoldwell Bit early but it’s well within his capabilities to beat Dubois and if he loses who cares? He’s at that stage Dubois was at when he lost to Joyce, look what he’s gone on to do? Fuck the “0”, you win or you learn at his age.
@UK_FightNight Also, was wilder ever actually good? He could punch but I feel a lot of the top 15 boxers at the time would have beaten him, Ortiz would have stopped him if he wasn’t in his 50’s and Ortiz never beat anyone either
@elusiveraf Because at the time AJ was the biggest name in the sport, how else was he going to get his name back out there? Once he was back fighting fit, he Wilder and went quiet on AJ, he wanted a belt of his own to create a 50/50 rivalry rather than be at AJ’s mercy in negotiations
