Healey and Markey Avoiding Debates & Voters in Western Mass Before Ballots Go Out
Springfield — Massachusetts Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale condemned Governor Maura Healey and U.S. Senator Ed Markey’s refusal to face voters by debating, including avoiding Western Mass, before mail in voting begins.
Healey and Markey Are Hiding From Voters
And Western Mass Before Ballots Go Out
Springfield — Massachusetts Republican Party Chairwoman Amy Carnevale condemned Governor Maura Healey and U.S. Senator Ed Markey’s refusal to face voters by debating, including avoiding Western Mass, before mail voting begins.
“Incumbents with a record of failed policies do not get to run out the clock. Intentionally avoiding debates before voting starts is hiding from voters.
Between Maura Healey’s cocaine-trafficking aide and the $2 billion sweetheart deal for a Boston congresswoman’s husband, these politicians should face the voters of Western Massachusetts."
She continued, "Springfield and the rest of Western Mass are not an afterthought. They deserve answers on a public stage, not press statements from Boston."
Based on the current calendar, voters will most likely be receiving ballots by mail as early as September 29th and filling them out. According to Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 54, Section 25B, voting by mail can start as soon as the Secretary of the Commonwealth makes such materials available to the town clerks.
Carnevale concluded, "If Healey and Markey will not debate until after thousands of ballots are already in voters’ hands, they are not participating in an election. They are managing one. Western Massachusetts, and the rest of the Commonwealth, should not be ignored.”

The legal filing to run for Governor requires I declare a dollar amount “up to”a limit for remaining campaign…so I chose UP TO $2,000,000,000 ….clearly I am joking! But appreciate the cover story.
However- our incompetent and corrupt Maura Healey administration is giving $2B to their political elite friends and donors for a courthouse in Springfield…our taxpayers deserve better.
Healey Hypocrisy: Silent on July/August 1,614 Job Losses
WARN Data Shows Troubling Trend
Boston, MA – New WARN data shows Massachusetts lost 1,614 jobs in July and August from companies with 50 or more employees.
Under Governor Healey, the state’s business climate has deteriorated, reflected in Boston's office space vacancy rising to 25% from only 5% in 2019.
Lack of jobs opportunities has also contributed to residents leaving Massachusetts for states with better job and business climates.
"Maura Healey can't ignore the job losses she caused by her taxes and policies, or hide behind any other politician," said Haley Jones, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Republican Party. "And her silence is admission of guilt."
She concluded, "Mike Minogue is a serious candidate focused on expanding job opportunities for everyone. He knows what it takes to create jobs."
These numbers come in compliance with the federal WARN Act, whereas employers must notify the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development about a layoff or plant closing. Employers with 50 or more employees must submit a WARN notice. These WARN notices must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the layoff or closing.
