Beatrix Pipe Band achieved a seventh place at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow on Saturday 14 August. In Grade 4B, with 49 participating pipe bands, Beatrix managed to qualify for the finals. We asked several members to reflect.

The Royal Air Force Waddington Pipes and Drums are coming to the Netherlands in September. The pipe band of the Royal Air Force mainly performs as part of the 80th commemoration of Operation Market Garden.

The Holland Massed Pipes and Drums will play twice during the Nijmegen 4Days Marches. In addition to the festive parade on the last day (friday) during which all the walkers come in, the band will also play on the so-called Flagparade, Sunday afternoon.

The only certified SVQ kiltmaker in the Netherlands recently opened her own Kiltmaker's Studio. After 20 years of trading in kilts from Scotland, Annette Plantinga wants to be creative again and will focus entirely on designing and making handmade kilts.

On Saturday, 23 March, the annual mini band and solo competition will take place organised by the Dutch Association of Pipe Bands (NOvDB). Six pipe bands and thirteen soloist from the Netherlands and Belgium will participate.

Tonight we will be at the 36th Scottish Concert Evening of the Clan MacBeth Pipe Band in Groningen with our information stand. This band, founded in 1987, organises a concert evening every year in November. With 180 visitors and 40 musicians it will be a great evening. 🇳🇱🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇨🇦🇬🇧

Clan MacBeth Pipe Band from Groningen held its annual concert evening on Saturday 4 November. Under the leadership of the new pipe major, the band looks back on its anniversary trip to Scotland and participation in the world championships in Glasgow.

On Saturday 14 October we organised a workshop for drum majors from Dutch pipe bands. Not only did eleven drum majors participate, but also several pipe majors, a pipe sergeant, pipers and drummers.

The Nijmegen Four Days Marches and bagpipe music have been inextricably linked since 1950. Of course the Holland Massed Pipes and Drums played at the parade on the last walking day. This year there were also two British and a French pipe band in Nijmegen.

A dream comes true for bass drummer Arie van Sluijs from The Netherlands. He has been selected to participate in The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Pipes and Drums 2023. For four weeks he will play at the world's famous military tattoo.
