It is absolutely scary that the ANC in the impeachment committee said “Let’s not oppose Ramaphosa’s interdict as a Committee - let’s leave it to the Speaker”
They knew full well that the Speaker Thoko Didiza would not oppose Ramaphosa’s interdict application.
By the time the impeachment committee would realise this plot, it would have been too late to file papers opposing Ramaphosa’s attempt to stop the committee from executing its mandate as per the ConCourt Judgement.
What makes it worse, the Speaker ignored legal advice that said she must oppose as it’s her Constitutional duty, and fundraised a dodgy legal opinion from ANC Matthews Phosa’s law firm a week later to justify a wrong decision.
It gets worse! Thoko Didiza was an ANC MP who violated the Constitution by voting to suppress the Section 89 Independent Panel Report, a decision set aside by the ConCourt!
The latest is an attempt to have terms of reference that make it possible for Ramaphosa to send a legal team to testify in his behalf.
The ANC has not changed one bit!
Another major governance problem in the NYDA is that there are essentially 3 CEOs.
I don’t understand why we need an Executive Board Chair and Executive Board Deputy Chair when the Youth Agency already has a CEO.
The Board is way too operational!
Worse the Board Chairperson says that the Executive Management Committee (EMC) meets every 3 months. How can an operation committee meet every 3 months?
Fundamentals of Corporate Governance are clear that the Board should provide oversight, while the CEO manages the day to day affairs of the entity.
I actually feel very sorry for the CEO, who must navigate competing centres of authority.
Though, it’s a historic policy issue that predates this Board, my suspicion is that the ANC created this structure to give politicians in the Board more grip over the operations of the entity. That’s how the stealing starts!
A law firm is appointed to represent the NYDA Board Chairperson in her personal case against a Sunday Times journalist.
No one knows what process was followed.
CFO doesn’t know.
Company Secretary doesn’t know.
Legal Office doesn’t know.
Public resources are going to be used, and no one knows what process was followed.
This is why we need the youth to register to vote!
the presenters , the sound engineers, the photographers, the videographers, the producers , the social media managers .this man doesn’t get enough credit when it comes to the number of black South African youth he employs . Amazing 🙌🏽
She was last seen on 21 June 202 leaving Ruimsig Country Estate with a Bolt ride. Let’s repost until we find her guys, we can’t keep on losing our daughters and sisters 😒🙆🏿♂️
JJ Tabane says politicians think we are idiots—& he uses Gayton McKenzie as a prime example.
Many politicians believe they can say anything, make promises without accountability, & rely on the public to simply accept it.🚮
NONSENSE!
