“Every single day I wake up and thank God for the chance to do it one more time.”
Where do I start. Anyone who truly knows who I am understands the type of mentality I have. I have been on every part of the scale when it’s coming to winning, the bad and the good. I’m the hardest person on myself when we lose or even when we win in ways I don’t like to win. Myself and the team have a standard we hold ourselves too which we did for most of the year and we were very confident coming into champs. I’m not gonna sit here and say we played to our standard because we clearly did not.
Since we have moved to PC, the consistency on the computers we play on in a PROFESSIONAL league (to put it lightly) has been abysmal. We scrim and play our league matches online on different PCs then when we come to LAN and it can feel different tournament to tournament and even day to day. I know when I say this next part it won’t make sense to most of you but yesterday I could feel from the start that the G2 series was gonna be a long series for me right after map 1. Struggling to just a simple kills or simple trades which puts our team is way better positions making the game more simple. And when you don’t get those simple free kills, the game is just gonna feel harder in general.
After map 4 of the match, I asked for a pc change because I could tell something is off. The ref nodded his head and I proceeded to walk off stage. I was asked by the head PRC what was wrong with it and I explained to then getting an answer “okay thank you for letting me know”. I walk back on stage for map 5 expecting a new PC and to sit down and play to when they told me “yea we didn’t switch it, we did a scan it looks good.” At this point, it was clear they never were gonna switch the pc and I proceeded to play map 5.
I am saying this NOT as the sole reason why we loss but to be in a professional gaming league that 1000% has back up computers I think it’s crazy that we can’t get a simple switch unless the computer physically tells the admins there’s something wrong. Any pro player will tell you these PCs are day to day and I don’t know how to say this without sounding insanely egotistical but I’m not going -37 with a regular working PC. I’m just frustrated that this happens at the most important tournament of the year and this is how it ends. EWC is around the corner so I’ll see yall there. ✌️
Chris Van Vliet: Do you have the same disdain for Peter Dinklage that Hornswoggle does?
Brad Williams: Yes, absolutely. That's one thing Hornswoggle and I completely agree on. We'll unite over our mutual disdain for Peter Dinklage.
Chris Van Vliet: So it's just jealousy?
Brad Williams: Partly, yeah. He's incredibly talented. If they ever made The Brad Williams Story, Peter Dinklage would probably be cast to play me.
Brad Williams: But my real issue is what happened with the live-action Snow White. Dinklage criticized the idea of using dwarf actors, arguing it was offensive. From my perspective, that meant taking away acting opportunities from little people.
Brad Williams: I also know he asked the Saturday Night Live writers not to make dwarf jokes, which is his choice, and I respect that. But I think it's inconsistent because he appeared in Tiptoes, which I consider one of the most offensive movies about little people ever made.
Brad Williams: The cast included Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale, Patricia Arquette, Peter Dinklage and Gary Oldman, who played a dwarf.
Brad Williams: They didn't use CGI. They had Gary Oldman act on his knees with special wardrobe to make him appear shorter. In my opinion, it's one of the most offensive portrayals of little people ever put on screen.
