On May 2, 2004, when Tali Hatuel was traveling with her four daughters to Ashkelon, between the Mor Bridge and the Kissufim Route where she was traveling, under the protection of nearby residential buildings in Khan Yunis, two terrorists, Ibrahim Hamad, an Islamic Jihad al-Quds Brigades operative, and Faisal Abu Majra, an activist in Fatah, opened fire on her car and forced her to the side of the road. Hatuel was seriously injured in the first attack. The terrorists, who were armed with Kalashnikov rifles, approached the car and fired shots at Tali, who was eight months pregnant, and her daughters, 11-year-old Hila, 9-year-old Hadar, 7-year-old Roni and 2-year-old Meirav at point-blank range. IDF forces that arrived at the scene eliminated the terrorists. It didn't start on October 7th.

Tonight, at Hostages Square, released Hamas hostages spoke out while their loved ones remain in captivity. Sharon Aloni Cunio, who was kidnapped with her husband and two young daughters came home over a year ago. David is still in Gaza.

“Decision-makers must understand the scars and illnesses we returned with after just 52 days: pneumonia, infections, weight loss, unending fears and nightmares. Now imagine 438 days like this – what David is enduring there alone - a year without us?

I stand here representing David, my daughters, and all the families whose worlds have crumbled. I demand the return of all 100 hostages. Now, before winter arrives, the hostages must return immediately for life-saving medical care. Their physical and mental weakness won't allow them to survive the coming winter. Please, don't leave anyone behind. Don't turn me into a widow and our daughters into orphans."
