I highlighted the significant strides we have made in transforming agriculture in Sierra Leone.
We agreed that our partnership will support the transformative initiatives we have undertaken as a nation in diverse sectors, but moreso with a core focus on agriculture.

The Country representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation in Sierra Leone (UNIDO), @MAswaray has handed over equipment to @Protectionleone, at the Polytechnic Kissy Campus, for the establishment of four new Centres of Excellence across the country, as well as the strengthening of the existing one on the campus.
The agency during Stage One of the hydrochlorofluorocarbons phase-out management plan (HPMP), with funds provided by the Multilateral Fund Secretariat of the Montreal Protocol, established the first centre of excellence in 2019.
Building on the successes and the unique role of the established centre of excellence, @Protectionleone in collaboration with UNIDO under stage (II) of the HPMP and with funds from the Multilateral Fund Secretariat of the Montreal Protocol, has procured equipment such as recovery machines, cylinders, electronic leak detectors, electronic manifold gadgets, brazing um pumps and kits, manifold ammonia digital, charging kit HC, HCFC, and HFC, kits, for the establishment of four additional centres of excellence across the country.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Sheikh Ahmed Tunis, Director of Research Policy and Innovation, expressed gratitude to UNIDO for their ongoing support of technicians in the conversion of manufacturing processes and products to environmentally sustainable alternatives.

🇸🇱’s new Minister of Trade & Ind., Ibrahim A. Sesay, held fruitful discussions with a UN team led by me today on efforts to enhance the country’s trade competitiveness. We focused on how to leverage opportunities (including AfCFTA) for faster progress towards SDGs 1, 2, 8 & 9.
We launched the Climate Change Manifesto which contains citizens demands & expectations from political leaders. I reiterated the call for debt cancellation for Climate vulnerable country like Sierra Leone, which spends a significant amount of its revenue on debt servicing.
