Mathew Barzal: incredible skater, big talent. Has a lower body injury that kept him out of the Worlds and all of training camp into at least the first week of the season and likely longer. An injury the #Isles have said publicly they have to manage.

An NHL team is almost definitely not trading for Barzal and his contract by March. So I think you can set aside rumors and hypotheticals for a while. Barzal is a very good Islander and is going to stay one. He cares a lot and loves this team and this area. Easy guy to root for. I’m rooting for him.
