@chloeainworth Alaska, in a way. Plus I love viking myths and stories.
The rest came from lore I created and the fallout that happened as a result of the wars that followed in that country.
So, after the past year, I've decided it was time to start over. Not with writing per say, or abandoning current projects. Rather to take the opportunity for fresh a fresh look and see how I can improve, grow, and become a better writer.
Stay tunes for what that means. π
When you're having to write an elaborate scene to con someone out of money, it suddenly makes you think π€. (No, I'm not going to do that lol. I can already see some of you quirking an eyebrow at meπ π€ͺ)

New job is going well, I can definitely see the financial opportunities it's going to afford me to get things back on track. It's just going to take time
Sadly, I probably won't be able to get the time off to do events this year , but I'm still working on finishing up my next two books.
I really hate delays, but that's just part of working full time and trying to manage a serious writing career. There's just challenges to overcome.
It might be a slow year for events. Prepping for my new job and getting a project room set up where I can focus on my work and potentially do recordings.
Hey everyone! I'm an author who loves crafting thrilling mysteries and connecting with fellow writers here on X. I'm also a proud cat parent to two adorable furballs! Follow me, and I'll follow back, let's build a supportive community together! βοΈπ #writerslift#catlover
Sometimes we need reminders of why change is necessary in our lives.
I had one hit me this morning after coming into work.
It's kinda sad to learn someone is actively trying to sabotage your path and cost you your job, just because they don't want to be held accountable.

I think we often use excuses in the place of action.
In the place of taking steps to make honest changes in our lives.
We use excuses to prevent us from moving forward. To give us a pass for behavior that is detrimental to personal growth.
Think is, excuses are just our way of saying 'I Quit, I can't or I won't'.
But if we spend our lives in defeat, will we ever find any victory at all?
In words, unless we push forward and fight, we will forever live a life in misery and mediocrity.
I know it's been a while since I gave any updates on book progress.
Still finishing up the next anthology alongside Ancient Blood: Into the Veil
I've been buried in my job and a few things outside of writing.
I am also planning minor tweaks to book two after some heavy thought about a couple characters.
I have a set of blog posts I'm also working on. 2 out of 4 are finished. Each requires some heavy thought also.
Stay tuned!
It's funny how when you go to write a blog post on a particular subject, the topic can change after taking a step back and let it simmer before posting it.
Slowly getting more writing done as I look at the coming year. I'd really like to finish my next two books before my next event, but not sure if I'll make the personal deadline.
