@wobblybee @MateEdinburgh To clarify: we've been on hiatus for a while now and there's no major plans to restart our activities. I happened to catch this scam account because they made the mistake of following my personal account, and I spotted it was fake immediately.

Hi I'm Chris and I'm a long-standing part of MATE. I've never heard of this, and others are unsure too. We didn't exist before 2020 so this 16k before lockdown is a lie. The paypal link in this is also dead. This looks like a scam under MATE's name.

@wobblybee @MateEdinburgh Whoever is behind the scam impersonator account, I hope you feel proud of yourselves. Imagine stooping low enough to try and fleece trans people and our allies at a time like this, with the cost of living crisis in the UK and ever-deteriorating trans healthcare.

After MATE's hiatus, we are organising meetings to catch up, check in with each other, and talk about if and how MATE should operate moving forward. Meetings will be online on January 6th - one at 12pm, one at 6pm (you don't need to attend both). 1/3
