Sometimes one can viscerally feel how small or undersized their maxilla is and it feels breathing through a gas mask filter.
It's tremendously more calories/energy per day to get the needed airflow through a smaller airway, burning out parts of the nervous system undergoing all this extra strain for each inhale.
A gas mask is a correct comparison because the inhale is a harder than the exhale for both, really feels like pulling in air though an undersized filter because that's exactly what is happening.
Can feel the entire nasomaxilla structure pump and strain with the descent of the diaphragm, and how much extra effort each inhale is taking due to the lack of space from which air can move in the maxilla.
There is a compound effect due to the Bernoulli principle - more air moving faster through a smaller structure creates somewhat of inward shrinking pressure which counteracts the expansion pressure from inhale.
Most people with undersized / undergrown jaws and maxilla do not feel how much harder they have to work to breath because it's just normal for them. Or worse (and usually what happens) their body compensates by taking shallow breaths and compensating in the rest of the posture, which makes the issue even worse over time.
This is why we clarify that physical health and phsical attractiveness fit together - the wide cheekbones, dental arch, and undereye support means your maxilla / airway is wide enough for you to function properly.
Using Whole Body Breathing we definitely get everyone feeling the true size of their maxilla/understanding their actual position. And for a lot of those people, they get nasal breathing improvements comparible to removable palate expanders or dental treatments. Being able to breath through both nostrils like you're supposed to.
Good Function is Good Health. Good function is Good Form. Good Form is Good Looking.
Good breathing form is Whole Body Breathing.
