I don't have #POTS anymore 🥲
My resting HR is around 45-50. When I stand up heart rate increase for 10-20 beats and then settles down again. I put really hard work in last few weeks to recover. #LongCovid#dysautonomia
The Guardian: "Long Covid causes changes in body that make exercise debilitating – study"
"Experts say severe muscle damage, mitochondrial problems and microclots may explain impact of working out"

Is #LongCovid a "real thing," #MedTwitter? I'll let you decide.
Here's my own case: I'm a cardiologist(40s) with no prior medical Hx & have run tons of marathons & several 1/2 Ironman Tris.
In March '20, I fell ill and became quickly hypoxic and confused. It was COVID-19. 1/
We gotta remember that anxiety/panic attacks may have physiological causes (blood flow??)
Often over the last 3yrs with #longcovid I’d wake up suddenly at night feeling very anxious
I had no reason to. But it was like my body was anxious rather than my mind- if that makes sense
Dear all doctors
Your long covid patients have not recovered, they have just given up making appointments.
They are suffering at home in silence. Don’t think they are doing ok just because you haven’t seen them for a long time.
#LongCovid
For the last two months I have been running, cycling and climbing the Alps in Switzerland and France. I still have #dystautonomia and #POTS from #LongCovid but I feel well enough to return to the activities I love.
Emilia Brangefält was very talented young professional athlete. In the last few months she was delaying with #dysautonomia#POTS. Unfortunately she decided to take her own life. It touched me very deeply because as an athelte I know what she was going through.
