@RGIII My biggest fear is eventually slipping back into believing that politics really matter to me in my quiet little meaningless life. I get that on some grand scale, it matters, but so does the weather, and I don't go outside and shake a stick at the sky every day.
@AnimeBurgers I have been given a special mission by my SO to find one particular anime scene involving a burger and along the way discovered your work. Here is my contribution: https://t.co/vd1hw165gV
@BlinkZero87 @Yanky_Pollak@POTUS The first part of the sentence states a fact, the second declares a right using the first sentence as contextual justification. It is literally "if citizens can't arm themselves, they cannot be secure in a free state, therefore they are granted the right to keep and bear arms"
@the_jezza @BlinkZero87 @Yanky_Pollak@POTUS A militia is just a group of volunteer citizens. Back in the day the government had a hard time arming people, so they made it a right to keep and bear arms so that in the event of another invasion it wouldn't be an issue. It was a practical not philosophical matter.
@lavern_spicer I guess San Francisco is about to speedrun collapsing a city. Taxes there are already bonkers, banks are dying daily, and now you're on the hook for giving every black person in the city a luxury lifestyle for the next 250 years? It'll be funny to watch tho.
@GatorSe7en@Yanky_Pollak@POTUS The deeply ironic thing is I still can't walk around in most places in the US with a flintlock pistol. All these originalist BS responses miss the point entirely. It's just over your head. God help you if you have to try to protect a loved one one day.
@BlinkZero87 @Yanky_Pollak@POTUS The idea of the first part is this. Lets say another country tried to invade the US, if the citizenry isn't already armed we are going to be in serious trouble. You give people the right to arm themselves even in times of peace so when shit hits the fan they are prepared.
@POTUS I don't even like rifles, but I think based on how many there are and how many I already own it is a bad idea to try to ban them. It is a huge deterrent to invading the US that we are all armed to the teeth, giving up that strategic advantage because of criminals is a bad idea.
@Raoul_Sheridan@Rothmus I don't think you understand. If he had been killed before getting his day in court that is vigilantism. If the legal system fails to serve its purpose and someone else takes care of it in its stead that is called... justice.
@Rothmus Another benefit of an armed society, when the gov won't do justice the people will. And for all you sissys, please lecture me about how someone who attempted to kill a mother with her infant child by running them over deserves to continue to draw breath. 🙄
@MiskatonicLab@Rothmus Chin up young buck, if we pick up the casing and do a good thorough job extracting the hollow points we can probably recover more 70% of each round.
@TalibanPRD@lordmiles Listen, I don't like the taliban, or any other ideologically based group for that matter, but I do hope you find this guy before he ends up on the bad end of an isis video. The enemy of my enemy is my friend after all.
