@thsottiaux ChatGPT told me not to use my available Codex reset because it said I could save it. The reset expired and now I’m stuck at 24%. Can you restore the reset/usage?
looking for my next software engineering opportunity.
built SocketSweep to bypass Android's awful MTP experience, using a native C++ daemon, ADB, TCP and Rust. it can index 100GB+ in seconds and is now at 100+ GitHub stars.
if you're hiring, let's talk.
built this because MTP experience was driving me insane, so i decided to bypass it entirely
SocketSweep now has 105⭐ on GitHub
apparently @tryflexprice wants people who build weird stuff instead of waiting to be told what to do, so here i am👀@manish_fp@sudeepsd_@devayush__
I got tired of Android MTP hanging on my Mac, so I bypassed it entirely.
Built SocketSweep: a C++17 daemon pushed to your phone via ADB that streams POSIX filesystem walks over a TCP socket to a Rust desktop app.
Indexes 100GB+ in seconds. 🚀

@ashishjayamohan interested! your dms are closed. backend engineer with 1 yoe. built socketsweep (100+ stars on github), active in open source. would love to chat if there's a fit.
@GithubProjects hey, built an open source android storage analyzer called SocketSweep. it bypasses MTP entirely by pushing a native C++ daemon to the device over ADB and scanning the filesystem directly. 100+ stars, active contributors and forks.

looking for generalist/sde/backend/systems roles. i just love engineering end to end. but honestly getting a job in 2026 is brutal. would genuinely appreciate any advice on what someone like me should be doing right now. (4/4)
@kirat_tw your recent video on ai hit close to home. heres a story.
turned down a 25 ctc offer in 2024 because of a 2 year bond. joined an sbc instead, got benched for a full year with zero work. refused to rot. (1/4)
@kirat_tw thats how socketsweep happened. my dad handed me his phone to free up storage, i waited 4 minutes for mtp to load folder sizes, got annoyed and built a desktop app that bypasses mtp entirely by pushing a native c++ daemon to android over adb. 95+ github stars now. (3/4)
@kirat_tw ive always been into problem solving in general, never really felt like specializing. did ctfs for fun, won a few times, did competitive programming, won contests there too. systems, low level, security, devops, if its technically interesting ill build for it. (2/4)
@Dinosn Thanks for the shoutout! Turns out the best motivation for writing a custom C++ daemon and a Rust bridge is pure, unadulterated rage at Android's MTP transfer speeds 💀 Glad the community is liking it!
A high-performance Android storage analyzer that bypasses MTP using a native C++ daemon, a Rust TCP bridge, and a React Treemap UI. https://t.co/7QpOykQ0sT
