#FYMSiC 2026 Conference at McMaster.
Great day. And an enjoyable night. Our team came third place in the Quiz competition - The Math Questions were hard but not math.
I got myself copies of "A Synopsis of Elementary Results in Pure and Applied Mathematics".
This book was the source of knowledge for Srinivasa Ramanujin, before he joined University of Cambridge. There was no internet then. What could he have done with AI?
I continue to think about graduate education in statistics and the GAISE and argue that the following are not the same courses:
Applied Statistical Methods, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistical Learning, and Machine Learning.

With above study in mind, I asked, does sharing of Learning Outcomes/Objectives at the beginning of a set of Calculus notes affect student achievement in a quiz based on the notes? The findings of an experiment is due for dissemination soon.

IMA Mathematics Anxiety International Conference 2026 (2.5 days)
Date: Tuesday June 30, 2026 - Thursday July 2, 2026

AI 2027 Report is worth reading.
https://t.co/4JYPIuvcyP
If the report’s prediction were to come true, then beyond 2027 mathematics teaching and assessment methods would not look like anything we know - e.g. chalk and talk, written test/exam.
New pedagogy is needed.
Excited for Maths Week England yet? To celebrate, join Liz and Charlie to work on a problem together with students and highlight the key skills that they may need to draw upon during the week.

Claim: AI is Destroying Learning!
https://t.co/yTskFCer8B.
Really?
Years ago, many thought calculators/graphic calculators will destroy schools and the learning of mathematics. But that did not happen.
Eventually universities and society will adapt and take advantage of AI.

Do not disparage other educational systems.
Trip down the memory Iane: I was admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, graduated, and shook the hands of the Chancellor, Lord Sebastian Coe. The Graduation Ceremony: Time stamped 1.14.22 to 1.15.34
