@BBCNews It’s all well and good saying you will be putting CT and MRI into the community, but where are the staff that operate these machines coming from?
Btw those staff are called #radiographers and along with many #AHP’s never get a mention.
@SCoRMembers Yea something needs doing about this. Less people will want to do the job and us that are doing it are having to put in overtime just to survive yet alone live
@AmazonHelp had a package delivered today. Delivery driver forced open an electrical garbage door (that doesn’t have any handles) and forced the package underneath. Now the garage door won’t work. Property damage and forceful entry?
I have a sneaking suspicion this weekends shifts are going to be filled with many injuries associated with alcohol, aka facial bones and the like #readyfortheweekend#radiology
@BigRadTom Yea we need more both staff and updated equipment, plain film is going to get inundated when outpatients return in full force, along with follow up chests from post covid patients.
Firstly... the BBC actually representing Radiography for once? 😱 secondly... this is not a surprise. The importance of investing in diagnostics correctly and improving integration of patient pathways through Radiology helps nearly every aspect of health https://t.co/BHYrz9JpZz
‘We have 4000 spare ventilators, The NHS can cope with a new surge’.
Can I stop you there -its concerning and perhaps I can explain why (being an ICU consultant and all that).
Thank you @guardian for recognising the wider workforce and great to see a #diagnosticradiographer showcased, ‘We're at risk, just like doctors': the NHS staff fighting coronavirus behind the scenes https://t.co/PIbx8nn9Kz
@hornej13 Yea #Radiographers are in the same boat dispute having to X-ray every suspected and confirmed case, often multiple times during a patients admission. Including ED, ICU and theatre cases + our normal work (tho the amount of ?OA has gone way down)
@leandrearcher @SCoRMembers Exactly even with patients from ED or urgent care that aren’t for chests, at this point anyone could have it but be asymptomatic, then we are going all over the hospital. We only wear PPE when going to do portables for suspected or confirmed cases.
‘The NHS needs to do everything it can to ensure its boards access the widest talent possible & limiting the executive clinical roles to only two professions is outdated and exclusive...’
Thank you @KMiddletonCSP @thecsp#AHPLeadership @stuartgpalma @jkfillingham
I have observed (from time on placement) that maybe not enough evidence-based practice is being done for shielding if there is so much debate on the subject and contradiction. Also it isn’t reassuring for patients if there is inconsistency across sites #MedRadJClub
T4: part of my dissertation is on HCPC standards, one of which is being able to engage in evidence-based practice. Whilst there is so much evidence for dose reduction techniques (collimation/distance/etc) there seems to be less consensus on shielding in comparison #MedRadJClub
