Rainbow released their second album, Rising, via Polydor Records. It was well received by critics and fans, reaching No.11 in Britain. Rising was the first Rainbow album to feature the classic lineup with Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, Cozy Powell on drums, Jimmy Bain on bass, and Tony Carey on keyboards. It includes enduring classics like “Stargazer,” “A Light in the Black,” and “Tarot Woman,” and is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal albums of the 1970s.
