If you take a few minutes to scroll through bank repossession listings, one thing quickly becomes clear.
There are many luxury cars being auctioned off after owners failed to keep up with repayments.
This forces you to ask an uncomfortable question: Why do so many people buy expensive cars they cannot comfortably afford?
The answer is simple.
Social pressure is at its peak. Social media has created an environment where many people feel the need to constantly prove they are doing well. People feel pressured to look successful long before they are financially stable.
So instead of building patiently, many rush into debt to finance appearances.
A car loan is taken. A large monthly repayment follows, and suddenly a significant portion of income is tied to maintaining an image.
There is nothing wrong with driving a modest car while you build your finances. There is nothing wrong with waiting. In fact, sometimes waiting is the wiser financial decision.
What if, instead of rushing into a heavy car loan, you spent the next five years consistently saving and investing that money instead?
What if the goal shifted from looking wealthy today to becoming financially secure tomorrow?
Stop making major financial decisions just to impress people who are not carrying your responsibilities and will not rescue you when things go wrong.
The goal is to build stability, peace of mind, and a future that is financially secure.
This is the financial planning message I continue to share because I am living proof that discipline, proper planning, saving, and investing can completely change the direction of a person’s life over time.
For those ready to approach money differently and build more intentionally, I’m always open to walk that journey with you. Connect with me today.
