@sig225 My students think it’s cheating if they use DESMOS or Nspire to visualize the solutions. But I constantly model with them. Yes, it’s just a tool.
@mathyawp Your dream is a sign that we need to talk. How busy are you in October? Your PCMI fan club in the northwest would love to have you share some of your experiences/thinkings/challenges or whatever with the members of the PSCTM on Monday, October 18th. What do you think?
We start at 5 pm with the speaker portion roughly 5:20 - 6:25 pm. This allows for announcements, clock hour info, door prize, etc, and wrapping up by 6:30 pm pacific time. A big plus of doing Zoom presentations is having great speakers like you from other places in the country!
Since our May dinner meeting in 2020, we have been doing virtual meetings - first, Dan Finkel (Math For Love) and this past May with James Stallworth who you may remember. My question is whether you would be willing to do a Zoom presentation for our group on Monday, October 18th
I hope you are doing well and staying healthy!
I am helping Joyce Frost, another PCMI alumni, with the program for The Puget Sound Council of Teachers of Mathematics. We have been meeting quarterly for dinner and a guest speaker.
@pegcagle @ilana_horn As you know I have a virtual teacher for almost 20 years. Do you want to know that I don’t get up (shower and get dressed) until after my 1st period class?
