Scaling fintech in Africa comes with unique challenges, but the conversations reminded me that with the right balance of tech, people, and regulatory foresight, it’s possible to build products that truly last. #Flutterwave#FintechEvenings
Last month, I attended #FintechEvenings hosted by @theflutterwave and I’ve found myself returning to the conversations again and again.
A few thoughts I carried home⬇️⬇️⬇️
Hearing from leaders at Sterling Bank, Bamboo, Fincra, Cowrywise, Paystack, Moniepoint Group, and Flutterwave made me realize how much nuance there is to getting this right in Africa.
I faced a bug that completely stressed me out 😩 I had everything in place: database transactions, validation, access control, and idempotency. But no matter how many times I retried the same request, I kept getting the same 500 error, even after fixing the actual issue.

💭 Curious to hear from you:
What’s your mental model for deciding what to cache in idempotent APIs?
Have you faced something similar?
Let’s learn from each other
I attended the @Microsoft AI Skills Conference, and it was an incredible experience!
The sessions focused on AI awareness in Nigeria, adoption strategies, and what it takes to prepare Nigeria for an AI-driven future.
