This lies directly on the UCP and in particular DANIELLE SMITH and her totally useless health minister. This is a tragedy beyond all proportions for this family, @CBCNews @cbc.ca #abhealth#abpoli https://t.co/BpRrdvBo0Q
Deep sympathies for this young man’s family and friends. This government is slowly destroying adequate health care. #saveABhealthcare so Albertans get the lifesaving care needed https://t.co/BpRrdvBo0Q
Here’s another solid reason why Danielle Smith and the UCP government must go. Doesn’t anyone in this party have children or at least know somebody who does? #abpoli#UCPdangerous#UCPunfitToLead https://t.co/MTAiuYB3VJ
An appalling, unjust, law drives teachers back to work. The most dangerous precedent Alberta has seen In many years. Column.

What’s happening in Alberta is shameful, and it’s not just about teachers.
It’s about every worker in this country. It’s about our families and our future.
51,000 teachers having their rights stripped away under the notwithstanding clause. That’s not leadership — it’s control.
And it’s not new. The federal Liberals have used the same tactic eight times in just two years — against longshore workers, postal workers, and flight attendants.
When governments silence one group of workers, they’ll silence another… and another.
Workers have fought back before, and we’ve won. We’ll win again.
To our union family in Alberta: we’re with you — all the way. ✊

Abhorrent behaviour from this UCP gov't. Supposedly the most "freedom-loving" Premier in Canada, but Danielle Smith is abusing power like an authoritarian.
Alberta students deserve better.
Families deserve better.
Teachers deserve better.

Apparently, the UCP has about as much respect for the Canadian Constitution as Donald Trump has for the American Constitution. If rights become optional, they cease to be rights … and we cease to have a democracy. For those who missed it, here’s our warning to Smith.
Looks like the UCP is going to ignore our warning and use the Notwithstanding Clause against teachers. Here’s Smith’s deputy chief of staff claiming that the clause was created to end protracted strikes. It has literally NEVER been used that way. He’s making up history and law.
Albertans know what's at stake.
Danielle Smith is attacking teachers, parents, students, and workers. We won't stand for it.
Alberta's New Democrats stand for public education.

The line has been drawn.
If Premier Smith invokes the notwithstanding clause, expect an unprecedented provincial labour strike that will shut down the entire province.
Democratic rights must be protected at all costs.
