🚨 URGENT UPDATE for all #ChudTheBuilder supporters
I just got off the phone with Alexis, Dalton Etherly’s fiancée. The situation is critical.
Most bonding companies in the area are flat-out refusing to touch Dalton’s case. We need 10 bondsmen for the $100k bond, but only TWO are willing to help. They’re filing an affidavit + motion to proceed with just two. Expectations are LOW the judge approves.
To make it worse, Davidson County just issued an FTA warrant for the dine-and-dash misdemeanor — making any bond feel like a trap. The lawyer is pushing hard for dismissals on BOTH misdemeanors (Montgomery harassment + Davidson dine-and-dash).
They’re also deliberately delaying the release of Dalton’s truck, leaving Alexis without reliable transportation. She was in tears.
The State is throwing everything at this family to crush an innocent man — ruin them financially, demoralize them, and force surrender. We cannot let that happen.
Supporters — it’s time to ACT:
• Call every bondsman you can find. Apply pressure.
• Donate to the fund.
• If you have an extra old beater car, message us. Alexis needs wheels NOW.
This is a fight for justice. Come together RIGHT NOW.
Share. Amplify. Don’t let them break this family.

I'm glad to see so many Stargate fans standing up to Amazon & their BS.
As a Stargate fan, I don't want Stargate "for a modern audience"
I want a faithful, lore accurate, new story, made by the people who actually care.
Nobody wants Stargate to be the next "Rings of Power"
SHARE YOUR STARGATE STORY HERE
I want to hear from you, why is Stargate special?
How'd you find it?
What special memories does it hold?
Let's show @AmazonMGMStudio why Stargate is so special to us fans.
Multiple fan petitions and letter-writing campaigns are now going to try to save the new Stargate.
Michael Shanks has been very vocal in amplifying fan voices.
Do we hae a shot at getting Amazon corporate's attention or are they too jaded to listen to the fans?
Since Amazon MGM Studios won't even read an email from a dedicated Stargate fan ('unsolicited submission materials'), which must be bad for business, here's the full content of the email (subject is the axing of Stargate):
Dear Amazon Studios Leadership,
I am writing as a longtime Stargate fan to express my deep disappointment at the cancellation of Martin Gero’s new Stargate series and to ask that you reconsider.
Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe ran for seventeen seasons and built one of the most loyal fanbases in science fiction television. I have been part of that audience for years. I buy Prime Video subscriptions. I watch Amazon originals. I am exactly the viewer you are trying to reach.
The reported reason for the cancellation — that the show was too focused on existing fans — misunderstands how franchise revivals work. You do not build a new audience by abandoning the existing one. You build it by honoring the existing audience first and using their enthusiasm to bring new viewers in alongside them. That is precisely what Martin Gero, Brad Wright, and Joe Mallozzi were doing.
Please restore the Gero Stargate project, or at minimum commit to a revival that respects the franchise’s seventeen seasons of canon and brings back the creative team that built it.
The gate is ready to open again. Please let it.
Thank you for your time. @AmazonMGMStudio@BaronDestructo@MichaelShanks@GateWorld@dial_the_gate@fandompulse@disparutoo
I started watching SG-1 at age 15. I was the first in the family to start, but one by one they all joined me. Then one day, even my Dad joined. NOTHING on television held my Dad's interest. He never went to the movies. It was the first time I'd ever connected with him in this way. Not long after he started, he came home one day with the first season DVD box set, and the whole family started watching from the beginning. He kept buying the sets, until we caught up with the currently airing show, and then we watched like clockwork as a family every Friday night, with pizza and soda.
You have to understand, that is a CRAZY thing to type out about my Dad. He never did stuff like that. He was tough to connect with about something that wasn't mechanical or construction. I can't think of a single other fun thing he did with us that wasn't what a kid would consider "chores" or "work." My siblings and I treasured those Friday nights like nothing else. It was an entirely new experience, having something like that where he would quote the lines to you in the middle of the day (Teal'c lines were his favorite, especially the infamous "undomesticated equines" line).
My Dad has been buried for almost 8 years now. My oldest two kids barely remember him and the other two never met him. We recently watched both SG-1 and Atlantis as a family. It's been an emotional ride, sharing this with them yet wishing Grandpa was around to share it with them too. My kids ADORE Stargate. My girls have crushes on Daniel Jackson and John Sheppard. My youngest son wants to BE Jack O'neill. They cried when Daniel ascended the first time. They were over the MOON at the idea of a new series in the works to enjoy. I haven't had the heart to tell them the news that the whole thing has been called off.
Save Stargate!
Fans are starting to get organized. @GateWorld & @dial_the_gate will help lead the charge.
Standby, Stargate family. A massive, massive #SaveStargate campaign is about to get underway.
Michael Shanks is now actively campaigning to save Stargate after Amazon canceled the new series from Martin Gero.
The actor behind Dr. Daniel Jackson says if fans want a Stargate show involving the original creators and cast, now is the time to speak up.
There is more to the story behind the reason why the Stargate show on Amazon was cancelled.
The original greenlighters at Amazon, Nick Pepper and Matt King, who liked Martin Gero's work that respected the Stargate lore, have been moved, let go, or restructured under a new Amazon MGM studio leadership.
Under the new leadership with Peter Friedlander, who is an ex-Netflix head of U.S. and Canada scripted division, and Blair Fetter, a Netflix vet who ran “spectacle series”, they shifted focus towards maximum broad and global appeal for expensive worldbuilding shows.
They want more shows like Stranger Things, 3 Body Problem, Ozark, etc, which were massive hits, and any new shows must have broad appeal, where they must convincingly bring in new viewers, not just satisfy existing fans.
There is an age-old saying... A product made for everyone is made for no one. These execs don't understand that their success came during a time of a massive global crisis, and pretty much any decent show gets massive ratings due to the forcibly captive audience. COVID really gassed up a lot of execs into thinking they are geniuses when the reality is that these numbers were never going to be repeated again.
What this will likely do is cause Amazon to burn massive amounts of funds for "modern audience-wide appeal" flops that interest no one and offend no one.
And yet, even under this new regime, it is still greenlighting more of Rings of Power despite its underperformance. The chase for "inoffensive broad appeal" is going to bite them in the butt.
The sad part is... a lore-accurate Stargate show was in the works, but because it didn't have enough modern audience broad appeal, they axed it under the new leadership.
Joe Mallozzi, a long-time SG1 showrunner said, "It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family.”
By all accounts, it sounded like it would have been a good show, but we'll never see it... not at least from the "new" Amazon.
Doom and Age of Empires creator Sandy Petersen blasts Amazon over their handling of Stargate:
"1) get handed a massively popular IP that spans 17 years of successful shows."
"2) realize it has millions of loyal fans, desperate for more. They are now in their 40s and 50s, flush with money. Eager to teach their kids & grandkids about Stargate."
"3) you could start with this. You are already three steps up the ladder to huge success. The fans will evangelize it, if you don't wreck the IP. Don't believe it? Look how the fans evangelized Battlestar Galactica after its 30 year hiatus. And the initial Dr Who reboot after 15 years."
"4) cancel the project because you want a "new take" that will eliminate all the loyal fans and turn them into bitter enemies."
"It's like an ancient Greek play about hubris."
Why are corporate execs like this?
Stargate SG-1 actor Michael Shanks urges fans to take up the fight and say something about the Stargate cancelation
"I’m gonna simply say this: if you are at all interested in a Stargate show with ANY of the original creators/performers involved, now is the time to say something. Otherwise it really will be the end of that chapter forever. Let them know you are THERE."
Have you voiced to Amazon yet?
We need a respectful but powerful campaign to ask Amazon to reverse this decision. Martin and his team always thought of us, now its our turn to help them. @MichaelShanks is right. We need to act fast or we won't see Stargate produced by the right people . @StargateNow
@MrNanobubble@AmazonMGMStudio I started a GoFundMe to fly a banner over the Amazon Studios corporate headquarters! Please share! We still have a chance to revive this project and keep the gate open! https://t.co/sX9jmpSBSk
