What do you listen to when you do #grading? I listen to @PianoGuys

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

Common #flipclass mistakes? Thinking that flipped mastery is the only way to flip.

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

I love this grading technique to de-emphasize #grades and emphasize learning. https://t.co/1aeUqeI3N5

Is the benefit of "taking notes" to have them, to physically write them, or to jot down something while going through a learning experience?

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

The longer I teach the more I see students copying hw. Students don't see the value in traditional hw. Make hw meaningful or don't assign it

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@TravisLemon @MVPmath I like MVP, but we aren't integrated. Do you have modules that focus on Geometry? Is there a suggested order?

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

Why is the medical field more able to implement medical research than the educational field? #education #edchat

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@TravisLemon Next year my school is finally adopting College and Career Readiness Standards, so it is an opportunity to change everything.

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

Another #hacklearning podcast about throwing out grades. What if daily activities weren't graded, but the test used standards based grading?

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@TravisLemon On 2nd though, it doesn't matter that Ss walk away with different levels of understanding. The gap doesn't matter.

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@TravisLemon In my current practice students spend the same amount of time. Faster students just do more problems. Does this wide the gap?

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@TravisLemon I was thinking in terms of number of problems.

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

@Anniekperkins @samjshah Mathematics notation is a language. You give them opportunities to use it and give constant feedback.

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

I love @cultofpedagogy and @hacklearning podcasts. Are there other #podcasts for #teachers that you would recommend? #edchat

If I had unlimited money, my #geometry classroom would be full of #art like this. https://t.co/D5mdc4KnFp

I assign hw as a HS flipped classroom teacher because it allows me to make better use of my face to face time #caedchat

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

I haven't tweeted in months. I decided to get back on because of #HackLearning. I love the podcast!

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

Preparing students for using math outside of school and preparing students for SAT and ACT feels like aiming at two targets. #mathchat

[Ben Lewis @mathlewis]

Is it fair to ask fast and slow students to complete the same amount of work? How do you challenge both without widening the gap? #mathchat
