The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Except it doesn’t bend on its own—it bends because we pull it in the direction of justice. What keeps me hopeful during times like these is being surrounded by people who are doing just that.
😂😂😂 INDEPENDENCE 🇿🇼
What a bunch of fucking losers
That’s why 2 to 5 million live abroad in diaspora. There is nothing good about Zimbabwe, it’s a shit hole.
Should I trust a doctor who "Google" in front of me?
I will give you an honest answer. If I was a patient, which I know certainly i will be - many times, i would trust, be comfortable, have more confidence in a doctor who takes out his phone to confirm doses, "googling ", in front of me.
An explanation: when doctors take their phones to "Google " its not that they don't know about the condition, they have obviously spent at least 7 years learning so they aren't googling your symptoms but:
1) Doses, certain diseases we rarely see them, that we may eventually forget the exact doses, not the medication but the dose off the top of our head, so we use specific sites meant for doctors to confirm. This happens all over the world.
2)Each country/region has a reference book meant for that area that doctors use as their "bible", in UK its The British National Formulary (BNF), in Zimbabwe its Essential Drugs and Medicines List in Zimbabwe (EDLIZ), doctors have been using these for decades as hard copies but now all on the phone, so we use our phone again to quickly get to the area of interest.
3) Calculations and formula, certain medications needs specific calculations for every patient, this is more common for children where every drug including paracetamol has to be calculated, so we also use the phone as the calculator. And instead of manually using a formula now, a doctor can use same phone to punch information and an answer comes out quickly, dose of specific treatment for example, its faster, technology.
Remember, unlike other professions, a doctor's mistake is in the grave, so a doctor who cross-checks is the safest doctor.
Congrats Zimbabwe: Now Africa's leading blueberry producer. Today is World Blueberry Day. Zimbabwe has an advantage because its blueberries grow earlier in the season, and harvest is shipped earlier to EU and UK. Now China wants high-quality Zim blueberries.
Took a walk around Graniteside today with the owner of a new complex. Still being built but all 170 units already leased to Chinese. Mdara Simba gave me the most profound advice as he showed me the factory where Chinese workers are working hand in hand with Zimbabweans to produce mugs, pots and plastics products. He said: “Zimbabwe is becoming Africa. South Africa will follow. We cannot compete at the level of manufacturing and discipline of these Chinese. We must focus on construction, agriculture and mining, otherwise , we must stay out of their way in low cost intensive manufacturing.”
I totally got what he was saying. Their brutal efficiency, speed and dedication is hard to replicate and compete against.
Why a Good Board Chair Makes All the Difference
I’ve sat on boards led by both strong and weak chairs, and the contrast is striking. A good chair doesn't try to be the smartest person in the room—they focus on drawing out the best thinking from everyone else. They listen carefully, create space for all members to speak, and guide discussions without dominating them. When a chair leads with openness and humility, the board becomes more engaged, thoughtful, and effective.
Some board members I’ve spoken to feel more like subordinates than peers, simply because of how their chair behaves. That’s a clear warning sign. A chair is not the boss of the board—they are its facilitator. Their job is to help the board think clearly, make decisions together, and stay focused on what really matters. When a chair starts to control the conversation or push decisions through without discussion, the board loses its independence and value.
The best chairs don’t make decisions on behalf of the board—they help the board reach decisions together and then communicate those decisions with clarity and unity. A good chair knows that power doesn’t come from speaking the most or having the final say. It comes from creating the conditions for collective wisdom to emerge. And that’s what truly drives a board’s success.@ipcconsultants
Receiving thoughtful feedback on your academic writing is always a challenge.
Thesify is an app that can help you with it. It evaluates your writing and gives you considered feedback.
And you can get started on it for free.
Here's how to use Thesify:
Sad watching this. A question is asked in Ndebele and translated for non-Ndebele speakers, but when the response comes in Shona, there is no translation for Ndebele speakers.
When an MP raises this obvious concern, he is casually dismissed by his colleagues.
This is the house that makes the laws that govern our country. If they cannot organise themselves to ensure mutual understanding and basic respect, why should the nation believe they will care about it?
At times we think it is tribalism when it is just incompetence. I say this because the Speaker of the Zimbabwean Parliament is Ndebele, why can he not run his ship professionally, ensuring that translation is available to all who need it?
It is also disappointing to hear other MPs dismissing a serious concern raised by their colleague.
Any MP who needs translation should receive it in order to carry out their work diligently.
My team in Harare has told me that we have 200 Boergoats coming in second week of January after quarantine from Nigel in South Africa.
They are all male, and will be sold on arrival at US$1000 a goat.
We are not taking any deposit like before, it is on a first come first serve basis.
