The Global Alliance for the Implementation of the two-State solution convened at the Egmont Palace in Brussels, hosted by Belgium.
Co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Norway, and chaired today by HRVP Kaja Kallas, the meeting gathered 83 delegations from countries and international organisations, demonstrating strong support and underscoring the centrality of security in achieving any lasting solution.
High-level participation included the Palestinian Prime Minister, the High Representative for Gaza Nickolay Mladenov, as well as the Belgian and Norwegian Foreign Ministers.
The 🇪🇺, as a co-founder of this Alliance, remains committed to keeping the Palestinian question high on the agenda through both strong political engagement and sustained financial support.

(EN/FR/NL/DE) On this International Women’s Rights Day, let us remember that equality is not granted—it is built every day. Women’s rights remain fragile and require our constant vigilance and commitment.
Today, I want to honor all the women who, often working behind the scenes, contribute every day to the excellence and impact of Belgium’s foreign action.
This video celebrates their dedication and expertise. It is thanks to them that our work truly makes a difference. Wishing everyone a meaningful Women’s Rights Day!

Fijne Internationale Vrouwendag!

🇧🇪🇺🇦| Today marks 4 years of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Belgium reaffirms its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and its people.
Our Ambassador, together with diplomats in Cairo, joined to show their support for Ukraine.
We #StandWithUkraine.
🇸🇩 Together with 30 Foreign Ministers, I’m calling for an immediate end to the violence in Sudan.
Sudan faces the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Drone attacks kill civilians. Health facilities are destroyed. Food convoys are targeted. Humanitarian workers die trying to help.
Famine is confirmed. Sexual violence is rampant. 100,000 people have been displaced in recent months in Kordofan alone.
Intentional attacks against humanitarian personnel may amount to war crimes.
We urgently call on the Rapid Support Forces, the Sudanese Armed Forces, and all militias to cease hostilities immediately. Civilians must be protected. Humanitarian access must be granted. Those responsible for violations against women and children must face justice.
Sudan cannot be forgotten. We stand with its people.

🇸🇩 The situation in Sudan is nothing short of catastrophic.
Millions of people are trapped in a conflict they did not choose, facing hunger, displacement, and unimaginable violence. The world cannot look away.
Belgium stands with the Sudanese people. Through our renewed contribution to the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund (@UNCERF), we are helping provide food, water, shelter, protection, and essential healthcare to those most in need.
This week, the CERF unlocked an additional 20 million USD in emergency aid for Sudan, bringing total allocations this year to nearly 47 million USD, making Sudan the Fund’s top priority in 2025.
Belgium remains a reliable donor, contributing 37 million EUR to the CERF for 2025–2026, including 20 million EUR this year.
Humanitarian aid alone will not end the suffering. Only a peaceful political solution can bring hope back to the Sudanese people. Until then, Belgium will continue to stand by them, with solidarity, action, and humanity.

🇧🇪🇵🇸 Palestine will be recognised by Belgium at #UNGA.
Firm sanctions are being taken against the Israeli government. Any antisemitism or glorification of terrorism by Hamas supporters will also be more strongly condemned.
Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs ⬇️
🇺🇳🇵🇸The confirmation of famine in Gaza is not a surprise. It is the tragic consequence of what has been clear for months: an entire population is being pushed into starvation, destitution, and death. More than half a million people are already facing catastrophic conditions, and the outlook is set to worsen in the weeks ahead.
Our absolute priority must remain to contribute to a humanitarian solution in Gaza. Belgium has stepped up in recent weeks, but much more needs to be done. Air drops are not a sufficient answer. Only full, unimpeded and independent humanitarian access by land and sea can avert further tragedy.
It is a disgrace that in the 21st century, children are dying of hunger because aid is blocked. In this case, famine is not a natural disaster, it is the result of choices. Choices that strip people of their dignity and condemn them to suffering.
Equally important: the assistance that finally reaches Gaza must reach those who need it most. We call on all actors on the ground to ensure that humanitarian aid is delivered directly to the civilian population, without interference or diversion.
As I see also the devastating impact of the conflict in Sudan today, where hunger and malnutrition are spreading, the message could not be clearer: famine, wherever it strikes, is a failure of humanity. We cannot allow this to become the norm.
Belgium will continue to do its part. But the world must act together, decisively, urgently, and with compassion. Because every delay costs lives.
