Received an email inviting our school to take part in an Int Maths Olympiad Challenge, for an online simulated maths challenge, May 28-29. I don't think it's linked to the IMO I already know. Does anyone know if it's OK or suspicious? @UKMathsTrust @Whitehughes @DrFrostMaths
@RobHopkinMaths @El_Timbre @ChrisFMaths@DrStoneMaths@naveenfrizvi@danicquinn AMSP have great further Maths videos, links to their YouTube on their website, meant for students and I always recommend them. Must admit that I've used them myself before teaching too.. ..
Can anyone help with legal requirements of maths provision &/or point me towards official docs (or retweet). Yr 11 student, passed gcse end of yr10. Does she still have to study maths in yr 11, any minimum hrs per week etc. TIA @Whitehughes @MathsNot @robotmaths @edsouthall
@karenkaz79 @Whitehughes @TLMaths I needed a lift problems worksheet and downloaded something from TES last year. Iโve just looked and it was from Maths Shop, called โmechanics lift (elevator) problemsโ. It was a paid for one, I think ยฃ2, and was perfect for me at the time. Might be useful?
@EmporiumMaths @TLMaths @Whitehughes @cafemaths @MathsNot @EmporiumMaths Please can you let me know where these topic tests are on the emporium? Thank you!
@eymaths I second Dr Frost maths. I've used the PowerPoint as the start for all my a level classes, making changes each year to fit my teaching. They've been a great help. Resourcaholic website too.
@tm_maths@MrsDMaths Yes, normally just the result of each pass. I guess the exam could ask for more detail for a single pass. I think it's more common to be asked how many comparisons they made in a pass, without the need to show the comparisons.
