First of all MTN doesnโt give out loans. The loans on their platforms are given to customers by partner banks. MTN momo is just a medium for accessing the funds. And secondly no serious customer care rep will tell you the recipient was owing so the money has been deducted.

Ibrahim Mahamaโs Damang Gold Mine Limited sells 100% of its first gold output to GoldBod, BoG in historic move
30th April, 2026
In a bid to support foreign reserves accumulation, Ibrahim Mahamaโs Damang Gold Mine Ltd. has sold 100% of its first gold output to the Ghana Gold Board.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi esq., received a team from Damang Gold Mine led by Mr. Ibrahim Mahama at the GoldBod Assay Laboratory in Accra earlier today, where he briefed the media about the historic transaction.
He noted that having Ghanaians at the helm of the countryโs minerals and mining sector is key to maximizing national benefits, local value retention and economic transformation.
The Chief Executive Officer bemoaned the low contribution of large-scale mining companies to foreign reserve accumulation efforts of government and urged other large-scale mining companies to emulate the good example set by the Damang Gold Mine. This he said is imperative for the actualization of the objects of the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Program (GANRAP) launched by government and approved by Parliament.
The first output of the Damang Gold Mine delivered to the GoldBod today is about 110KG. The gold will be assayed, valued and purchased by the GoldBod for and on behalf of the Bank of Ghana, refined and added to the Central Bankโs gold holdings.

Young people venturing into entrepreneurship gain the power to become innovators, job creators, and drivers of economic growth. It equips them with practical skills, confidence, and independence, enabling them to transform ideas into opportunities while preparing them to contribute meaningfully to national development.*
As a youth advocate, I was privileged to witness and be part of this remarkable government initiative, which reflects a strong commitment to empowering the next generation. The Students Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development (SEED) Programme is a timely intervention designed to nurture student entrepreneurs, promote creativity, and bridge the gap between education and economic empowerment for a brighter future.*
I commend the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) for championing this brilliant and forward-thinking initiative aimed at empowering students through entrepreneurship and innovation. Their commitment to nurturing young minds and creating pathways for self-reliance is truly commendable.
This remarkable effort is a strong reminder that investing in student potential today is the key to building a more innovative, empowered, and prosperous Ghana tomorrow.
H. E @JDMahama has pledged his commitment to inclusive national development following a meeting with the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs led by Nene Sakite II, highlighting economic progress, plans to operationalize the University of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences in Bunso, investments in infrastructure and healthcare, and policies like uncapping the District Assembly Common Fund, while emphasizing job creation, hospital expansion, and key initiatives such as Free Primary Health Care and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund to improving livelihoods and national development.

A fire outbreak at the Akosombo Substation a while ago has caused a disruption in power generation. As a result, power supply has been affected in some parts of the country.
A full evaluation is currently underway to determine the extent of the impact and to enable technical teams to commence processes to restore normal operations as swiftly as possible.
We kindly urge the public to remain calm and be assured that the situation is under control.
I had the distinct honour of meeting Her Majesty @UNSGSA Queen Mรกxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-Generalโs Special Advocate for Financial Health.
Our conversation went beyond finance in its narrow sense. We spoke about financial inclusion, but more profoundly about financial health, the condition in which individuals are not merely connected to the financial system, but are empowered by it.
At its core, an economy is not a compilation of figures. It is a living expression of human agency. It reflects whether people can withstand shocks, pursue opportunity, and plan their futures with confidence.
In our reset agenda, we are guided by a simple but demanding philosophy. Stability must translate into security for households. Growth must translate into opportunity for individuals. And access must translate into dignity for all.
Financial systems must not exist as distant structures that people navigate with difficulty. They must function as instruments that enable life to be lived with certainty, purpose, and hope.
We are therefore committed to building an economy where inclusion is not symbolic, but practical. Where participation is not limited, but universal. And where no Ghanaian is left outside the circle of opportunity.
Because the true test of our progress is not the strength of our aggregates, but the strength of our people.
Earlier today I summoned the Acting South African High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Thando Dalamba.
At the meeting, I conveyed the Government of Ghanaโs strong condemnation of the continuous xenophobic attacks on Ghanaians and other Africans living in South Africa.
We are urging South African authorities to take decisive action in protecting the human rights and dignity of our nationals and all Africans.
Ghana equally expects that the promised investigations be expedited and all perpetrators punished to serve as adequate deterrence.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will communicate other steps we have taken in due course.
Primary and JSS schools have reopened and as member of parliament of my beloved Ayawaso West, I donated free shoes to kids in the Airport residential area as well as Okponglo in East Legon. #idey4u

Several MPs, CEOs, party faithful, and grassroots members have reached out for my thoughts, and now Iโm asking for your feedback.
With the likely exit of our very respected Johnson Asiedu Nketia, should George Opare Addo step up as National Chairperson?
The case is simple. He represents a strong youth coalition within the NDC. Taking on the role of National Chairperson could energize young people, create greater opportunities to address their concerns within the party, and bring a fiercely independent mindset that keeps appointees responsive to the party base. It could also strategically position the party for 2028.
What do you think?
The honest truth is, thereโs no strategy to securing visa to enter the US. Just go there justify the reason why you wanna enter the US, make nobody lie you plus strategy and de3n de3n.

40,000 health personnel would be recruited since the NDC came to power once this year's recruitment is completed.
This means, there are still 60,000 personnel to be unemployed.
