I was born in Cambridge, so every time I say something dubious i'm just gonna add ' ... , Cambridge' to it. Maybe that'll get me a Daily Mail column too.

We're delighted to announce that Hazel Healy (@hazel_healy) has joined our team as UK Editor, having served as Co-editor of the New Internationalist for over a decade.
Welcome, Hazel!
@matjhope@DeSmogBlog Very best of luck Mat, it has always been a pleasure working you and your @DeSmogBlog colleagues; among the most professional yet friendly folk I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with over last few years.
DeSmog is going to miss you, Mat. I am eternally grateful for your enthusiasm to take on difficult work, create incredible investigative journalism with limited resources, and guide the UK team to truly global relevance and expertise. We wish you the best. Cheers!
@matjhope Congratulations Mat - you've done a ton of hard work and good work at DeSmog and the results show.
Never stop devoting all your energy to climate change - the world is a better place with you working on it 🥰
On behalf of all the board, good riddance 🥂 x

Ok, i'm going now.
So, today is my last working for @DeSmogBlog. This organisation has been an amazing and absolutely huge part of my life for the past (almost) 5 years. Cue the TRIBUTE POST...
I won't be going far. And i'll still be working on holding those responsible for climate change to account ✊
But, for now, a short break...
See you all in September 👋
