You can’t convince me that this version of the #USWNT couldn’t use the in the box finishing ability of Alex Morgan in a game like this. Their inability to finish on the box and get numbers in the box is incredibly frustrating to watch.

@CJ_JunesMani @kirstiebenedict @robbkingpa Hopefully Jaedyn Shaw can be that. Would have liked to see her earlier for sure. Just watching them struggle against the low block was frustrating. Alex isn’t the answer, and she’s not a starter, but her movement in the box with 80% possession could have made a difference.

I actually think against some of the better teams we will see Trin, Soph, and Mal be very dangerous because they are all very good at getting in behind. Not poachers tho.

@RealSlFn I hear what you’re saying, but this is the US Women’s National Team. You’re going to the Olympics to win a gold medal. That’s the goal. And if you can’t win a game against a team in a low block you may not get out of the group stage. Alex is something different than other FWDs.
