Women on maternity leave and their babies have been the forgotten in the discussion about #COVID19 Please sign our petition to #extendmaternityleave2020
This article highlights the pressure parents are under trying to juggle #childcare and working from home. We need to see urgent and significant investment in a public childcare model. This has also been highlighted by the citizens of the #CitizensAssembly https://t.co/R7FF91fyoH
We also need to see investment into paid family leave. Please continue to support our current #EveryWeekCounts campaign calling on @rodericogorman to immediately extend #ParentsLeave by the promised 3 weeks per parent. You can write to your TDs here ==>https://t.co/8xoWPm6L6R
Over three months after the Budget and still no sign of legislation for the additional 3 week's Parent's Leave. No excuse for this delay - parents and families are waiting.
@WhitmoreJen
Thank you so much for your continued support throughout our campaign to #ExtendMatLeave2020 this would be a very welcome development for our supporters @rodericogorman

Government need to bring forward the proposed April date for 3 additional weeks parents leave. There is no excuse for this delay @MichealMartinTD@RodericOG Thank you @CarrollJennifer for seeking clarification for us
NEW parents may have to wait until April to avail of payments linked to a scheme for three weeks extra Parent’s Leave promised by the Government last summer, TDs have been told. #ParentsLeave

@itisSJ Hi Sarah. As far as we are aware the additional 3 weeks can be taken but only after April. We are trying to engage with the department to see if they can bring that forward.
@HHumphreysFG @ESRIDublin Hi Minister, we appreciate the three week increase of parents leave announced in #budget2021 but not being able to take it until April is of little benefit for parents of babies born during lockdown, who can't access childcare for under 1s. Will you please reconsider this date?

Thank you so much @WhitmoreJen
for raising the issue of parental leave with @LeoVaradkar. Please @HHumphreysFG, bring forward the three week extension, April is too late for our families https://t.co/kiClxCfxGu
I asked the Tanaiste to bring forward the 3 weeks extra #ParentsBenefit to January (rather than make parents wait until April to avail of it) He agreed to talk to Min Humphreys about it. You could too by emailing [email protected] & asking her to #BringItForward !
National Women’s Council: "It is extraordinary to see no additional investment into Early Years Education and Afterschool Care when the costs of childcare are amongst the highest in the EU and investment is at such a low level" https://t.co/KZTYaTPyuy
@rodericogorman You have not listened to us at all Minister. 3 weeks parents leave but not being able to take it until April does NOT help families who had babies during lockdown and who can't get creche places for under 1s. Please reconsider this time frame, it's the least you can do

@JRuanaidh Hi Jenny. We are trying to get clarification. It seems it has been granted but not until April 2021, which doesn't really help our parents. We had been told that it was to be extended for the 1st 2 years of a child's life but that's also not clear from today. @rodericogorman
@rodericogorman@Paschald can you please clarify the extension of parents leave that you announced today? Is it true that it will only come in to effect from April? Can it be availed if for the 1st 2 years? Clarity is needed immediately. #ExtendMatLeave2020@NWCI@bridsmithTD
@welfare_ie @HHumphreysFG @merrionstreet @citizensinfo Can we have clarity around when this comes in to effect? Reports that this is only from January which does not support the families who campaigned to #extendmatleave2020
