Yesterday, we were afforded an opportunity to form part of the Nelson Mandela Foundation Legacy Sports Series Launch, at his second House in Houghton.

We learned a lot about the untold authentic stories of Tata. A real Freedom Fighter. While busy ushering us through the program, bro Robert Marawa also shared some of his lived experiences with Tata.

HEAVEN HAS GAINED A SOLDIER.

During times I was working at the EFF Headquarters I happened to be very close to the following people and trusted them to the last day:

1. Cleaners
2. ⁠Security officials (DOR included)

During field activities/programs it would normally get very cold at night, especially in the coastal land. MDALA would without fail, leave their camp site and bring hot water for tea so we keep warm throughout the night, when we do the setup.

I would equally make sure before leaving, create a small sleeping corner for him and others UNDER THE STAGE, so they could take turn to rest throughout the night.

A very loving soul who cared about people around him. He genuinely dedicated his life to serving his people.

In my next life, I wish to cross path with authentic people like MDALA.

LIMPOPO SCIENTIST WINS INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR HER RESEARCH ON SALT BATTERIES

Meet Keletso Monareng, a PhD candidate in Physics at the University of Limpopo, recently named one of the winners of the 7th L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Awards 2025.

Her work focuses on sodium-ion batteries, a safer, cheaper, and more eco-friendly alternative to lithium batteries. Instead of toxic lithium, these batteries use salt, making energy storage cleaner and sustainable.

Born and raised in Ga-Sekororo Village near Tzaneen, Keletso is proof that world-class innovation can rise from rural Limpopo.
