@HagenSnellBB A. Because he's a boras client why wouldn't he?
B. Because after CBA we don't know the cap say it goes 275 Cap for all teams I cant see anyone giving skubal 400 million at that point Unless the Angels under new ownership say we dont give 2 damns
@HagenSnellBB Yeah that's the thing no QO and the fact that he might sign before the CBA is a huge attractive piece for the Mets. They did the same thing with Scherzer pre 2021 CBA because he didn't want to gets the PA and not accept the most money given. Skubal I think might take most money
@Smqr1976@Punchoutpitch@JPerrotto I mean thats not fair on Konnor Griffin to just explode to inhuman numbers in his rookie debut to get them there and even so they are still not better than any of the teams there. They desperately need a floor. If you have a floor You could extend lowe and keep skenes
@borqster@Punchoutpitch@JPerrotto The sad part is it wont they need a floor because with a cap it just gives these owners another reason not to spend. They will argue " The Leauge is more balanced now"
@BillShanks Aside from that if you cap it at 275 and floor at 125 you don't change anything tbh the smaller teams still don't sign big free agents because that means donating 1/4 your payroll to some of these guys and at 275 top teams still go for top free agents.
@BillShanks Skubal might sign before the CBA and that is where the Mets or Dodgers would take advantage. This isnt't the first time the Mets did this either they did it with Scherzer in 2021 before the CBA
@BargerMVP_SZN How are the blue jays in how are you still alive and the Mets arenβt . Letβs think 2007 epic collapse 2022 blown 10 game lead against the braves 2024 great season omg vibes lost it to la. 2025 collapse again in September 2026 worst season imaginable Mets have to be further up
