Thanks everyone for all the engagement - even the “ew, AI slop!” comments.
I’m a Game Designer, not an Artist. I wasn’t trying to waste anyone’s time; I just focused my effort elsewhere.
I hear you, and I’ll work on improving it.

#indiedev#gamedev where do you find players? 😅
Released a free demo on itch yesterday.
Post got ~25 likes, ~3 players.
Am I doing something wrong, or is the demo just not interesting enough? Is this normal on itch?

@Jukebaum@godraytio@itchio One day sounds a bit optimistic, considering I don't even have a drawing tablet. But thanks for taking the time to explain your point. I'll think about what I can realistically do to improve it.
While looking for inspiration for Turnveil, I made Jester’s Gambit. The demo is out now on @itchio https://t.co/StPO45frsD
Your plays, shares & feedback will directly influence what happens next for both projects.

@CharleMarx Yeah, I'm starting to see that. Between the “ew, AI slop” and “same here, I'm getting zero players too” replies on X, that's pretty much the picture I'm getting too 😅

@godraytio@itchio This kind of feedback gives me a lot more to think about than just 'AI = bad', so thanks. I understand the dislike for AI art, but... yeah, I think I’ll leave the discussion here 😅
@2069Tweets Putting the visuals aside, do you have any specific feedback on the gameplay, balance, or abilities? I’ve already attached the same old screenshot a couple of times in other replies, and to me this still feels better than what I had before. Maybe I’m wrong though.
@godraytio@itchio I know AI art gets a lot of hate, but I can’t draw and can’t afford an artist. I’d still rather have a coherent style than what I started with 😅
Visuals matter, but they’re not the whole game - gameplay matters too.
@StudioTarga Thanks for the tip! I was really hoping I could avoid Reddit, but apparently there’s no escaping it. I'll definitely look into both of these.
@ignus_loki That sucks. I honestly thought I’d easily get 100-200 players, all of them would agree to analytics, and a week later I’d already be discussing terms with a publisher 😅
@corbygames Welp… Reddit again.
I hear about it so often, but I really don’t want to use it.
I got a weird ban there once, and there are so many rules that one wrong move feels like game over.
@VenBuster Hard to say. Right now we have a mechanic where enemies take extra damage if they get knocked into something, but a full wall bounce… not sure yet (maybe I’m not picturing it quite right)
