Psst @RishiSunak all eyes will be on you on the 27th, its not like no one has been begging you to make some changes to the scheme and/or offer ongoing assistance, BBLs were mainly used to weather the storm not Bounce Back. Splash more cash to help SMEs recovery and have a future.
@Bounce_BackLoan One theory... they send out default notices, you don’t (or can’t pay), they do the bare minimum to try and collect (itself heinous), they then claim the full amount from the government (100% guarantee remember) plus the BIP they’ve already had and your credit is screwed further🤔
@Bounce_BackLoan There has to be a reason, they can’t just issue a default unless something has triggered it. Presumably the business accounts are being used and not being left dormant 🤔
@Bounce_BackLoan “Officials were keen to return the market to more normal conditions given that previous schemes had skewed the market away from commercial lending, according to people involved in the talks to create the RLS.”... or basically, they never wanted the BBLS in the first place!
@Bounce_BackLoan So the BBB managed to get an organised system in place for brokers (their mates) quickly but never managed to organise the original BBL scheme properly over 11 months! Reprehensible beyond belief 😡
@Bounce_BackLoan Yes, they consider the business too high a risk, even with an 80% guarantee and so want to pass it on to their mates who can charge a fortune in interest. Would be interesting to know if these adverse credit lenders also get the government guarantee, even with higher returns!
@Bounce_BackLoan This is not random, this is “by design” and it’s been approved at the highest level (i.e. Rishi)... unbelievable that they are doing this 😬
God Save the Queen.
I shall keep quiet for a bit, seems inappropriate to do otherwise. Great chap, always spoke his mind, I liked that about him. I know we are all thinking of HM right now, and rightly so. x
Restart business grants now open
Non-essential retailers, hospitality, leisure personal care and gyms can all now apply online for the restart grant here https://t.co/8sMfYYkr3c
Discretionary funding grants, for businesses who are not eligible, will be opening later this month.
@AngusKeen@Bounce_BackLoan@RishiSunak Unfortunately, due to amount of fraud (real or perceived) that occurred on the BBLS (mostly due the banks total failure to perform adequate checks early on), this is never going to happen. It’s safe to say that this is all that will be offered sadly 😬
@Bounce_BackLoan Basically this is helping out the large(er) companies get a loan on similar terms to normal, but with only 20% “at risk” and requiring approval. Small businesses (T/O less than £100k), forget it!
@Bounce_BackLoan Dropping the guarantee to 80 per cent “will make a difference… in potentially how those loans find a home and those borrowers are looking for that finance as well,” Lewis La Torre said... translates to “most of you aren’t getting one” 😬
