I'm concerned that the increase in employers' NICs, together with other rising costs of employment, are likely to drive an uptick in these kinds of schemes. I've seen a couple of examples already, but looking to build up more evidence as to the scale of the problem.

There are a lot of problems with tax thresholds in our system but the marginal rates faced by benefits claimants trying to work are even worse at times and a big issue for work incentives.

If you wondered why Netanyahu's government refuses to end the war, one of the main reasons is that under its cover, the messianic nationalist right-wing ministers, led by Smotrich, are establishing illegal outposts throughout the West Bank. Since the war began, while hundreds of soldiers are falling in Gaza and Lebanon, government ministers are funding the establishment of illegal outposts and their infrastructure with many billions. 65!!! outposts have been built since the start of the war. The vast majority are in the pattern of "agricultural farms," which have minimal demographic and spatial impact, but their residents are the instigators of Jewish terror, displacing Palestinians, and more. According to Peace Now and Kerem Navot data, these farms are displacing Palestinians from 12% of the West Bank's territory. The Israeli Police is non-existent and the IDF turns a blind eye - this is not a mistake - this is the method.

@Shayan86 Part of the problem is that the US has so little protection against prejudicial comment in a live case, because 1st Amendment. As a result, high-profile cases become media circuses, with lawyers spinning the story on the court steps every day. We, rightly, lock ‘em up for it.
