Police are appealing for information after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of equipment from Ashby fire station.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday 21 September, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) station based in Wilfred Place, Ashby-De-La-Zouch was broken into.
Stolen from one of the appliances was specialist cutting equipment, and tools used to respond to road traffic collisions, along with thermal imaging cameras, chargers and batteries.
PC Luke Jones is investigating the burglary.
He said: “Our LFRS colleagues play a crucial role in responding to incidents such as road traffic collision where some of this equipment is used.
“This burglary not only has a financial loss to the fire service but more importantly could have had a significant impact on their duties and commitment to serving the public.
“We are continuing to investigate this burglary and we would urge anyone who may have any information about the whereabouts of this equipment or the people responsible to get in touch.”
