"My public health background has taught me to view everything, especially infectious diseases, through a totally different worldview," says MPH student @matt_bencz. @YaleEMD

This vote is really due to BIPOC and women— we NEED to continue to hold President-elect Biden accountable and ensure that America gets better for those exact communities. We need to come together as a country and heal the centuries-long divisiveness
In an incredible effort by @NathanGrubaugh @awyllie13 @VogelsChantal @robbysikka and many, many others, #SalivaDirect has received emergency use authorization from the FDA

This is the worst thing that’s happened to US science and innovation. Banning #Immigrant scientists will lead to a devastating loss in creativity and productivity. Pretty much every lab in the US will suffer. https://t.co/xzZypmAgVn
*sigh* if only people knew that public health mathematical models almost always take into account the biology of the disease.... they’re not mutually exclusive!
this man is really trying to talk about the evolutionary arms race but chalked all ‘germs’ up to bacteria......as if viruses don’t have their own defense mechanisms. Where is the trust is scientists in this administration?
(Keep thinking: I’ve a Masters in Public Health; wrote my doctoral dissertation on global efforts to tackle AIDS pandemic; co-authored a book on global health governance; teach MPH courses on health systems & global health & I’m not qualified to lead a national #covid19 effort.)
Heads up for folks in the USA;
If you're not having a food emergency, please don't go to the grocery store on April 1st and 2nd. Wait until the 3rd. People who are on food stamps get their accounts recharged on the first of the month, and have likely been running on fumes.
My evening #COVID19 update. I have four points::
1. The1st #COVID19 case in the US was diagnosed Jan 21;
2. It has since taken 53 days to do ~20,000 tests in the US;
3. That's how many South Korea does in 1 day.
4. Without testing we are losing the battle against the virus
Another truly disgusting story to elucidate the Capitalistic American Dream: 17,700 bottles of hand sanitizer owned by 2 people -- all to make a quick buck, while there are at risk people struggling to find protection / pay the price-gouged costs associated with fear buyouts.
NEW — TENNESSEANS from HIXSON Matt & Noah Colvin cleaned out hand sanitizer supplies in stores intending to PRICE-GOUGE on Amazon... (or as the GOP calls it- “the free market”!)
BUT Amazon has blocked the ugly practice, so they’re stuck holding the bag.

Imagine being afraid of accessible healthcare. . . .not wanting to grant a patent because China may make the pharmaceutical free and send it to the global south is disgusting.
Where are all those Catholic school dance chaperones from my childhood who were so good at making us leave room for the Holy Spirit? This is your time to shine.
