@mbeisen But can it do that thing where you slap the thermocycler just right (not like that, that’s wrong) and the PCRs all work correctly? Can it plug in a gel incorrectly and stare at a gel for 10 minutes wondering why the ladder only ran on the top half of the gel? Didn’t think so.

@DrTonyLetai Befriend a service engineer at the manufacturer, and insist on hanging out in the lab. Then casually be like “haha wouldn’t it be hilarious if you just fixed this for free…? jk… unless? haha…”
