“When you see Trump with Putin, as I have on a few occassions, he’s like the 12-year old boy that goes to high school and meets the captain of the football team. ‘My hero!’ It’s really creepy.”
- @TurnbullMalcolm, 29th Prime Minister of Australia.
@nxthompson The companies suck in what way? They arn't looking out for our best interest? The AIs suck at what they're supposed to do? Or does suck mean something totally different from what it meant in the '80s?
The Grand Jury report is clear: Moody, DeSantis, and Uthmeier robbed funds meant to give kids healthcare and sent it to the Florida Republican Party and their own PACs. They stole taxpayer dollars for political gain. It’s blatant corruption.
Everyone involved must be criminally prosecuted for this cruel greed. Charges must be filed without delay.
A bombshell report from CBS Miami revealed a Grand Jury found the DeSantis administration led a “sophisticated scheme to fund political activities” with $10 million in taxpayer money meant for children’s health care.
It’s clear from the Grand Jury report that our current Governor, Attorney General, and U.S. Senator laundered state medicaid funds through the First Lady's non-profit. Instead of those funds providing healthcare services for Florida’s most vulnerable, they were used for the Governor's political purposes.
The Grand Jury report demonstrates the scheme was highly orchestrated, intended to mislead, and deliberately covered up.
In return, everyone involved was then appointed or promoted by the Governor to positions of greater authority to further insulate anyone from accountability and hide the truth from Floridians. In fact, the Grand Jury acknowledged that the level of sophistication and lack of cooperation is what hindered their ability to recommend charges.
As Governor, I intend to reopen an investigation into the laundering of state Medicaid funds. And I challenge Byron Donalds to do the same.
The sheer number of lies from President Trump about Canada – growing again today – is remarkable. Just some fact checks from the last 18 months:
- Trump falsely said today that Canada's unemployment rate is "10% and rapidly rising,” though it is 6.4% (under the Canadian method that adds about a percentage point) and has been declining for three months
- Trump falsely said today that Canada does 95% of its business with the US, though 72% of Canadian exports went to the US last year
- Trump falsely said today that high Canadian agricultural tariffs have caused the entire US trade deficit with Canada, though that deficit is overwhelmingly caused by US imports of cheap Canadian crude and though something like 97% of US ag exports to Canada are tariff-free
- Trump has falsely said Canada generally doesn’t “take” US agricultural exports, though Canada is the world’s second-biggest buyer of those exports
- Trump has falsely said the Canadian public likes the idea of becoming the 51st state, which the Canadian public overwhelmingly opposes
- Trump has falsely said Canada is one of the world’s highest-tariff countries, though it is actually low in WTO global rankings
- Trump has falsely said Canada essentially doesn't have a military, though its military has fought with the US in multiple wars and its force size ranks in the upper half of NATO
- Trump has falsely said Canada hiked its dairy tariffs during the Biden administration, though they hadn’t changed since Trump’s first presidency
- Trump has falsely said the US trade deficit with Canada is “$200 billion,” though it is nowhere close
- Trump has falsely said Canada prohibits US banks, though it doesn't and though more than a dozen US banks were operating in Canada at the time he spoke
- Trump has falsely said Canada is “constantly surrounded” by Chinese and Russian ships, though that is fiction
- Trump has falsely said then-outgoing PM Trudeau was using their trade battle to run again for prime minister, though Trudeau obviously wasn’t running
- The US Department of Agriculture correctly says on its website that "almost all" US agricultural exports to Canada face no tariffs at all
- The super-high Canadian dairy tariffs Trump often talks about are *over-quota* tariffs...tariffs that apply only after certain negotiated quantities of zero-tariff exports are met...and those quotas are rarely hit, often not even approached
- Most Canadian exports go to the US, but it's not close to "95%"; it was about 72% of goods exports in 2025, down from 76% in 2024
- The US goods-trade deficit with Canada has sometimes been $60 billion but often been much smaller, and it overwhelmingly exists for one reason: the US imports a lot of cheap Canadian oil
@Publix
Very disappointing experience with my Publix sub today. I noticed the chicken fingers looked different - they were much smaller and thinner, had less breading, and we're a lighter color. The person making the sandwich said sometimes different batches look different.
@Publix it said that they probably ran out of and substituted something from their frozen section. That's very disappointing. I wish they'd just told me that they didn't have any or that it would be 20 minutes for a new batch or something because the sandwich that I got was awful.
@Publix But the chicken was chewy, a little like gum and even grizzly a little bit - there were even a few bites that I couldn't process and had to discard. The Publix chicken finger subs have always been delicious so I'm not sure what caused this but when I googled it ..
@NewYorker FFS, he could have quit 30 years ago and taken $20 million a year CEO job with any medical company he wanted. He's a career public servant of the first order who steered us through multiple medical emergencies. The kind of country that turns on a guy like this it's a clown show.
The Constitution is clear: states run elections
Now Mullin says states lose security funding unless they purge voters through a system a court already blocked
They want to coerce states before the midterms, but we will not let them
Free & fair elections are non-negotiable
@CrisMarkos@DalaiLama He's not misleading. There's nothing "wrong" with your anger, it's completely natural. But it will take you away from peace not towards it. Watch your mind right before you jump into anger - it's an irresistible lure promising a resolving of the problem and peace. It's a lie.
