Overly crafted and carefully worded summary that gives you the impression that I am well-read, care about important things, and am both confident and likable
@mitchellh@AsphaltCowb0y You didn't have to trust on first contact, you just had to read what he said to realize that they were salient points and not be rude. You just didn't read it, did you?
And also, "things are bad so it's okay that I act like an ass" isn't really the defense you think it is
@mitchellh@AsphaltCowb0y I did read it, and I'm glad. But your explanation for being rude to people with good faith criticisms of your work is to be unnecessarily rude because you....are impatient.
I love Ghostty, but man, maybe stick to the cool software and not the public interfacing about it
@mitchellh@AsphaltCowb0y Let me be very clear here, because I don't disagree with needing to protect from low effort contributions and AI slop:
why were you so rude to the guy that brought up incredibly reasonable points?
@mitchellh@AsphaltCowb0y I don't know anything about the original poster and don't know him or anything, so please understand the context:
can I use the vouch system to denounce you for this rude-ass reply?
@noobstealthdev@thefinnmckenty Yeah but that's you, not all or even most *some* underprivileged people
Additionally what happens when access to LLM becomes paywalled when it can't make a profit?
@thefinnmckenty@noobstealthdev Finn, I don't understand the attitude. I have no beef with you and I'm glad you've found success through whatever methods you used. But I asked how LLMs help underprivileged struggling with material needs and societal problems and your first example is "it makes a grocery list"
@thefinnmckenty@noobstealthdev How is that any different or more effective than what normal poor people are doing every day? How is it going to buy them a car?
@thefinnmckenty@noobstealthdev How is a poor person going to use chatgpt to build a company? When they're already incredibly busy working so they can barely scrape by. AI isn't going to get them reliable transportation, lower grocery bills, pay for childcare so they can have the *time* to learn shit
@noobstealthdev I'll be pretty upfront with the fact that I disagree with absolutely everything you said there, but I am curious how you think AI empowers the underprivileged
@npinnau@mattyglesias A lot of people also didn't believe the tenuous "evidence" from Bush. I'm saying that Matt is very wrong very frequently because he is easily duped
