Justice Sotomayor on today’s Supreme Court decision on college admissions: "The Court subverts the constitutional guarantee of equal protection by further entrenching racial inequality in education, the very foundation of our democratic government and pluralistic society."
SFUSD used to have the largest upper management of any district in CA. Last night Sup. Wayne presented his new org chart for upper management, which streamlines & flattens the hierarchy. Not only will this save $$, it will help us be more effective in serving schools & students!
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the new City report on SFUSD’s central office spending. Thanks to Sup Ronen for sponsoring this report that will help us realign our resources with our goals for student learning. https://t.co/SeU6jC7zbk

Thank you, @HillaryRonen, for your leadership and all the Supervisors for this incredible support for our public schools! This is a research-based investment that will pay off for all our kids.
We have deep work that needs to be done in our district to make sure all our Black and Brown families and students feel part of SFUSD. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board, our educators, students and families to ensure we do that work.
The racist remarks made by my school board colleague Ann Hsu are rightly causing a strong response. No board member or elected official should engage in racist behavior or speech.
