@TorontoStar Thank goodness they're not renaming the street but they still have Dundas all wrong. He was a staunch abolitionist who was instrumental in ending slavery in the British empire. He assented to Simcoe's Act to Limit Slavery in Upper Canada, 1793, following the Chloe Cooley incident
Guitarist, songwriter and singer Robbie Robertson, who led the Canadian-American group The Band, has died at the age of 80.
The Band was one of the most respected rock groups in the 1960s and '70s, and their 1976 farewell concert in San Francisco was the basis of Martin Scorsese’s 1978 movie “The Last Waltz.”
