🏆 | Once upon a time, not so long ago we were broken, staring into the abyss and without a Club to call our own.

But now, each and every one of those who never stopped believing is a CHAMPION!

Lets get the party started, Silkmen fans!

FULL-TIME: Silkmen 4-0 Ashton Athletic

[Robbie Savage @RobbieSavage8]

Incredible that only 3 teams in league 2 on Saturday and 4 in national league had a bigger attendance than @thesilkmen will get today 💙⚽️ meaning that we will have the 8th biggest today from league 2 down on this bank holiday weekend at step 5 of football

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

Good luck to @thesilkmen today. A new start, new name, and new owner. Rob Smethurst, @RobbieSavage8 and Danny Whitaker have made a great start over the past few months. Huge relief to see football back at the Moss Rose.

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

Best news this Macc fan could’ve heard today. Welcome and thanks to Rob Smethurst, @RobbieSavage8 and co. Great to see Danny W as manager and some familiar faces back on (the) board. See you soon Macclesfield FC.

[Macclesfield FC @thesilkmen]

⚽️ Exciting times for the Silks, as we embrace a new era at the Moss Rose.

We will build this together 💙

Local businessman Rob Smethurst has bought Macclesfield Town’s assets out of liquidation & set up Macc Football Club Ltd. Smethurst also owns Pro Football Academy, a private youth acad with 40+ sites across England, & NWCL side Stockport Town. Phoenix club could join NWCL in 2021

[Altrincham FC @altrinchamfc]

110 years ago we played our first game at Moss Lane. It was against Macclesfield Town.

Our two clubs have contested well over a century of fierce rivalry and whatever happens next, our thoughts are with @thesilkmen’s fans at a terrible time for our oldest rivals.

“Handball is killing the game we love.”

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

Ryan Reynolds is trying to buy Wrexham. Longtime Macclesfield Town fan Dwayne Johnson could buy the Silkmen right now (club’s for sale urgently) and set up the Reynolds vs Johnson National League local derby. Who’d make the better club owner @VancityReynolds @TheRock ?

[BBC Sport @BBCSport]

Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are two investors interested in investing in Wrexham AFC.

This is a good read on the backstory of MTFC’s winding up order. The situation is due to the ownership, not Covid.

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

1200+ people in Macclesfield met every other Saturday to watch their team. People of all ages who otherwise probably wouldn’t meet. The loss of MTFC hurts.

[BBC Sport @BBCSport]

Macclesfield Town Football Club has been wound up in the High Court over debts totalling more than £500,000.

Can Manchester City lend Macclesfield Town their lawyers for a run at the Court of Arbitration for Sport?

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

Really? Has a club ever previously had chance to weigh in at another club’s independent panel hearing?

[Mike Minay @MikeMinay]

Stevenage will have the opportunity to be heard at the independent panel hearing for the EFL’s appeal on the ruling with Macclesfield Town. #Silkmen

I've never been prouder to be Bristol City Poet & to offer a poem to my adopted city than I am today. This piece is called Hollow and I hope you like it. I've captioned it and everything!

Rust in shame, Eddie.

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

@davetaylor6 It’s total chaos, we’re the next Bury. Owner can’t run the club anymore but won’t sell either.

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

Bizarre statement from Macclesfield Town owner Amar Alkadhi insisting today’s game would go ahead. It won’t.

[Matthew Brown @mattbrown01]

@chrishulme01 @TheGreyMonk63 @thesilkmen I don’t think I’ll ever understand the decisions Amar has made in recent years. Seem to run counter to his own interests at times, as much as to the club’s. Appointing King was an obvious disaster from the moment it was announced.
