@laurado22528685 @metoffice This is direct sunlight, that is not how air temperature measurements are made.

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@Screwygore @HelldiversAlert The normal one does, not the laser one.

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@HelldiversAlert Against bots the mortar sentry isn't that bad. I'd replace it with a tesla tower...

[BevCoco💙😺🍷☮️🎻🎼📚🩰🎭🛍 @BeverleyColclo1]

So Ofgem now say that every household should pay a levy of £28 to pay for the bad debts run up by people who can’t afford to pay their bills!!!! What????? Take it out of the energy companies profits Ffs !!

This country is a bad joke

Sky Sports: promotes a “green weekend” to tackle climate change

Also Sky Sports: puts Bournemouth v Liverpool on at 4.30pm on Sunday, when the last train back to Liverpool is at 5.06pm, takes nearly eight hours, is £100+… oh, and it’s a bus 👍🏻

This is just common sense. Empty properties are a massive waste of resources, either rent them out or sell them so another family can have a home.

[Newport City Council @NewportCouncil]

We want your views on whether we should charge a council tax premium on long-term empty properties and second homes in the city.

There are more than 800 properties in the city that have been empty for more than 12 months.

@letsencrypt 🧊

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@embersunn Mine did. I'm pretty sure we were taught git in three different modules

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@letsencrypt Certbot of course!

THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS! 🧡

Two hours of sweat, speed and a second place finish! So proud, @LandoNorris.

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@letsencrypt I'd love to know what software stack you use on this beast!

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@VanishingTacos @slut4mcgriddles @EposVox @jtinch Hardware decoding will result in lower power usage than software decoding when playing back AV1 encoded video.

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@slut4mcgriddles @EposVox @jtinch AV1 is a way to encode (compress) video. It is very effective, meaning you can have higher quality video using less bandwidth. Having a hardware decoder means you can play AV1 video very efficiently, meaning better battery life, less bandwidth usage and higher quality video)

@ChasBWI @RBR_Daily Bring on the tyre wars! 🎉

[FFmpeg @FFmpeg]

Your weekly reminder that FFmpeg powers all online video - Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Disney+, Netflix etc etc, all run FFmpeg underneath

[Matthew Cane @mattcane]

@ykdojo Totally agree. Maybe it's because I find Git GUIs too cluttered? But for basic things, I am all for the VS Code GUI. It does fail badly at a lot of the more complex git commands though.

Every once in a while I'm reminded that dnsmasq, a lightweight DNS and DHCP server that's bundled into *almost every IOT thing and Linux distro*, is a hobby project maintained by one guy in the UK named Simon.

Nobody pays him and he doesn't get near the thanks he deserves.
